Akron native, Donald Eugene Gates, is a free man after serving 28 years in prison for a murder in Washington D.C. that DNA proved he did not commit.

Sure is good thing our justice system is slow with many built in roadblocks. Otherwise an innocent man may have been executed. Better yet, the hell with the death penalty. What's the point anyway.

I hope he gets ample restitution, but how can you give a man back almost three decades of his life?
