If the cross is not a "religious symbol" then why is it only the religious freaks are the ones fighting to keep it up?

If you want to rule that religious symbols are okay on public land, that's your right as a justice, but don't pretend for a second that a cross is anything BUT a religious symbol.

If you're an atheist the cross should be just like a square or rectangle to you.

True, it means nothing to me. But that doesn't mean I'm going to allow others to try to push their religion on everyone by putting up THEIR symbol everywhere.

LOL like out in the middle of a desert?

Well I know some religions have the octagone as a symbol. Should I fille suit for all the stop signs? No because it means nothng to me. Plus it's Christianity thats the target.

You're right, it IS christianity that's the target. And that cross was on PUBLIC land, so it doesn't matter if it was in the middle of a desert or in the middle of Manhattan. My tax dollars should not be used to promote a religion against my will. The bait & switch land swap was obviously intended to get AROUND the constitution, not comply with it.

You won this particular battle, but the war is hardly over. Scalia & Kennedy aren't getting any younger, and Obama's still got 6 more years to appoint their replacements!

You people worry about a cross that has been up for 75 years, you worry about a free student led prayer. However I have not herd one complaint about your tax dollars funding the Holocaust memorial that has bible verses etched in the stone which has nothing to do with the event? Nor have I herd about the Jewish heritage museum that teaches biblical history of Jews? The city and state of NY is on the million dollar donor list. Go after all or don't go after none. Or are you afraid like everyone else to get labeled a racist?

In God we Trust? You think if it said In Jesus we Trust it would still be there? It's there because Jews believe in God. When your money says In G-D we Trust you will realize this.

Actually all my bills say In XXX we Trust. A little ink goes a long way.

The difference with Judaism & christianity is that the Jews aren't constantly trying force everyone to live by their rules. When was the last time you heard of any Jewish group trying to get the old testament taught in public schools, or having Hanukkah declared a national holiday, or supporting constitutional amendments against gay rights? Hell, the Jews don't even support putting up the 10 commandments in public places. They understand religion is a personal relationship between a person and their god; it doesn't require public endorsement.

So yes, I will continue to concentrate my attack on christianity until they keep their religion in their churches & homes where it belongs.

So having the gov fund a religious teachings for them is fine with you? When was the last time a Christian heritage museum was paid for by the gov?
There is not one law that doesn't go with Judaism. Abortion backed by the ACLU and 60% of it's advocates are Jews. For a group that's only 2% population it's not very proportionate. Jews believe you're not a person until you take your first breath. So what do we have? Partial birth abortion, pull them out by the leg and and kill them at the neck. So you keep thinking Laws are not for their religion.

Their religion says to remove idols from the nations. They don't convert others. So all the crosses come down is for their religion.
I don't see Moses in and the commandments coming out of the Supreme court? Are you fine with having Moses in the Supreme court? You're getting your commandments confused. Jesus not acceptable but Moses is. Take your blinders off please.

Those laws are for ALL, not just for Jews, which is why as an athiest I can support them. None of them infringe on your ability to practice christianity. What I can NOT support are laws that are primarily for the benefit of christians only, or reinforce the idiotic notion that we are a "christian nation" (i.e. making christmas & easter national holidays, banning abortions for all citizens because christians happen to believe it is wrong, etc).

The most significant point you make is your admission that Jews "don't convert others". BINGO! They understand that religion is personal, not something to be forced on others. Maybe if today's "christians" stop constantly trying to convert us or tell us how to live our lives, then they wouldn't feel like they're being picked on.

Bingo? They believe they're above us we are not equal in their eyes we are criminals. By providing abortion you are endorsing their religion. When our kids are forced to go to the Holocaust memorial where bible verses are then that is forcing their religion on you.
Christian nation is idiotic? what % of this country are Christians? What would you call it? Yea Christians are just awful for not wanting to kill babies.

I call it America, a representative republic. The majority in this country are white, but we don't call America a "white nation". The majority are also female, but we don't call America a "woman nation" either.

As for "christians", they are awful because they think everybody else has to live by their rules. If you don't like abortion, then DON'T HAVE ONE. If you don't like same-sex marriage, then DON'T HAVE ONE. If you want to pray in school, then silently bow your head and pray away; nobody is stopping you. Your problem is you think NO ONE should get an abortion, NO ONE should have a same-sex marriage, and EVERYONE should have to pray to your "god-creature". I don't ever see the Jews or Muslims or Buddhists or Athiests doing that.

Why stop there? If you don't want to kill somebody then don't. If you don't want to strangle a cat then don't. If you want to keep your kids then don't kill them after 5 years like I do.

I bet your anti Guns too. The same Liberals cry about the Constitution when it comes to prayer but are first to ignore the right to bear arms.

You would be wrong once again. Must suck to be so stupid.

As a military vet I fully support the 2nd Amendment. Sorry, but us "liberals" don't fit neatly into the box that you like to put us in. I know that just drives you all crazy, but it's not a long journey for most of you.....

See, that's your problem right there. You are constantly trying to make people fit into whatever box you've pre-defined them as. That's why your side keeps trying to pass rules to force the rest of us to live like you do.

This is America, we don't all believe the same thing, we don't have to fit your bizarre definition of liberal or conservative or whatever. That's what makes America great.

What law is trying to be passed that's Christian? Abortion is more than religious it's just wrong to kill babies. Out of all the times I have been to Church I have not once herd anything about abortion. Not that it doesn't exist but they didn't push it on us.

You act like they just force it down your throat. Are you this mad when you get patio furniture junk mail everyday? People push their product on you everyday that doesn't mean your rights have been violated.

The bans on same-sex marriage and even civil unions are based primarily on the "christian" idea of hetero only marriage. Any & all opposition to gay rights is primarily from "christian" groups. Anything to do with prayer in schools is pushed by "christians" as well. Bans on alcohol sales on Sundays are also thanks to the good "christians". Abstinence only education laws being pushed on schools are driven by "christians". Even the ban on single women having access to the pill was from our friendly "christians"; thankfully the SCOTUS overturned that one in the 1970's.

Religion, and christianity in particular has been trying to force us all to live by their rules for centuries.

What law was being passed pushing prayer in school? What rights? You're lumping all the same sex ban groups as Christians. I mean abortion is legal this country is majority Christians so how did that happen?

I don't know if abstinence in schools is Christian or not but I sure hope so. I guess we shouldn't teach kids that sex at a young age is a bad idea? you're one twisted individual. How about thou shall not kill? Steal? is that ok or do you want that legal too?
