Did Central American volcanoes cause demise of Hopewell sites?
It is one of the great mysteries of North American archaeology. Between about 500 BC and the early 500s AD Native American societies in the Midwest and Upper Southeast built hundreds, perhaps thousands, of conical burial mounds, and in the later part of that era, dozens of spectacular geometric earthworks.

I love how when something that would lead to interesting discussion, such as this, nothing is ever said. But if this thread were about who "pops pills" or who's who's baby daddy, there would be 30 replies.

I doubt that there is any evidence that the Hopewell natives were popping pills.
