Georgia river could take Appalachian hikers to coast
Men walk on the rocks in the Chattahoochee River near Columbus, Ga. Leaders of a national land trust want to create an extension of the Appalachian Trail that would allow hikers to go from Georgia in a canoe or kayak to the Gulf of Mexico.

Basically, Georgia and Alabama could follow the lead of Columbus GA-Phenix City AL and extend the existing Riverwalk to the entire Chattahoochee (eventually).
