Where in this article is the perp identified as an illegal? You seem to think all latinos are illegal. What is your problem? |
20 yr old gang member out at 4am. Yeah he sounds like an upstanding citizen now doesn't he !!
I did not say all latinos are illegal. I said deport the illegal ones .. Learn to read |
Why don't you learn to read? I asked you a direct question. Where in the article does it say that this guy is an illegal? I know it doesn't, so on what basis does this article provide any support for your statement that illegals should be deported? |

1 where does it say he is not an illegal? He is a gang member it says, what more proof do you need? And again I never said the article mentioned he was illegal. I just said deport all illegals. |

1 Yes, you said to deport all illegals, but you said it in reference to this article which has no connection to the illegal issue other than that it involves a Latino. Which takes us right back to my original question, why are you assuming that a latino is an illegal? There are always articles dealing with crime involving all sorts of ethnic backgrounds, but unless it involves latinos, you never comment. Sorry, being a gang member does not mean you are an illegal. All sorts are involved in gangs. After all the Crips, Bloods, and Aryan Brotherhood are all gangs and those guys are not illegal aliens. It seems like you've got a real vendetta against Latinos for some reason that has nothing to do with questions of legality. |

1 I prefer the literal interpretation of Dan's post; it needs no interrogation by Ryand! I could have "made the leap" and interpreted Ryand’s post as a person who supports people committing crimes and should be protected from the police. By extension, her question to Dan -- Where in the article did it say the "prep" was an illegal is nothing less than an interrogation! Ryand, by inference seems to defend RWC as a "sanctuary city" and therefore should harbor illegal immigrants and not enforce our immigration laws. Ryand may even condone identity theft considering that some criminals have counterfeit social security cards or otherwise falsified their identity. I also choose not to make that inference or imply that Ryand is a flaming liberal...! Simply because I may seem conservation about the enforcement of our laws doesn't mean I am conservative. That is not an acceptable leap...! Most people have shades in their belief system; but I have no doubt, if you are committing a crime regardless of how good you are, you have to take responsibility for it – that sanction may be probation… or deportation. However, I support an unemotional, but pragmatic immigration workers program leading to citizenship. FYI: Inference: "the act of passing from one proposition, statement, or judgment considered as true to another whose truth is believed to follow from that of the former." Implied: "to involve or indicate by inference, association, or necessary consequence rather than by direct statement <rights imply obligations; to contain potentially." |

1 I made no inference. In this blog, Dan constantly equates latinos with illegals. I can't comment on the rest of your remarks because they are rambling and incoherent. |

First of all ryand is right. Dan said wat else prof do u need hes a gang member. Their are legal and illegal gang members buddy. I suggest u actualy think b4 u blurr things out of ur mouth. And Norteno means from the North so its rare to see an illegal mexican or latino being a Norteno most that are Nortenos are from mexican decent born here legaly . Just tought u should know dat.

agreed. just because one is a gang member, doesn't mean squat that he/she is an illegal

Actually, current gang affiliation "birth rights" has turned a corner some time ago according to the Attorney General reports and private sector reports. It use to be that nortenos were US born to families who migrated from south of the border and lived north of Delano, CA; that is not as true as it once was. Many illegal immigrants that travel north become affiliated with nortenos if they are going to join a gang. Most don't join a gang.
As organizations go, the nortenos have been forced to affiliated with the umbrella criminal crime gang - Nuestra Familia that governs great deal of organized criminal activities while leaving much of the criminal street crime to norteno sets with tribute paid to NF! Correspondingly, surenos were usually born south of the border and migrated south of the Tehachapi Mountains and the surenos sets are affiliated with the Mexican Mafia. The Mexican Mafia and Nuestra Familia are vying for the Salinas Valley with MM having some success. The latest organizing is among the violent El Salvadorians -- MS 13 -- Mara Salvatrucha. These gang is avoiding many of the tags that have plagued XIV and XIII gangs: they are dressing up to blend in with the population among other things! Like all gangs -- they are in transition and have become "nationalized" just like the bloods and crips. The old principles just don't hold except to say, these terrorists are our terrorists whether gang affiliated or just being a common drug addicted thug, burglar, robber, murderer.... |

I agree with everything you have written. I was amused by this man's comments and failed to see the connection between "deport all illegals" and a story about a gang member with a Hispanic name. I commend you on setting him straight, although he might not avail himself of your good observation. |
I find it sad and sick that you all seem to be defending a known gang member. What were they doing out at 4am? His parents should be arrested as well. It does not matter if he is illegal or legal, he is a thug. And I hope by coincidence he is illegal so they can turn him over to the proper authorities. |
Excuse me, I am not defending this scumbag. He will get what is coming to him and rightly so. If you can find any comment on this blog that defends this guy please let us know. The issue is Dan and his buddy, Jack Kirkpatrick, taking this incident and assuming, on the basis of no evidence provided in the article, that he is an illegal. I asked them how they "knew" that and they have been unable to answer. In Kirkpatrick's case, he tried to answer but like many other people who read this blog, I have trouble following his incoherent ramblings. |

I re-read the article and it does not say anywhere he is an illegal alien. On the other hand it does not say he is legal either. I suppose Dan is entitled to his opinion, be he right or wrong. Maybe there will be a follow up article, though I doubt it as this sort of activity in that area is not really news anyway.
Dan may be entitled to his opinion, but should expect to be attacked when he has nothing to back up that opinion. When you accuse someone of being an "illegal" you are saying that person is breaking the law - a serious accusation. It shouldn't be made unless you have some solid reasons for it. If I said you were a shoplifter you and others would want to know how I came to that conclusion when I know nothing about you. If I told you it was because the majority of shoplifters are women, you would rip my head off. Similarly, people like Dan and Kirkpatrick assume that because most arrested illegals are latino, any one with a hispanic surname is an illegal. |
my how you stretch things. I never ever said all hipanics are illegal. I simply said deport the illegal ones. Anyway you live in NY and know nothing of this area. If you lived here you would know that RC has a huge hispanic population, over 45% the last time I asked the mayor. And whether you like it or not, many many are illegal and the city council knows that, hence that is why RC is a sanctuary city. And that fact is also no secret. I have no idea if the guy in this article is illegal or legal. But we do know he was out a 4am, is a noted gang member, and was walking..do driving a car. Many hispanics here walk or ride bicyles because they cannot drive. Why ?? You have to be legal to get a license. It could be he was walking around at 4am because he felt like it,but highly doubtful. It was very cold and windy that night and morning. If he is legal, so be it, he still goes to jail for a few months |

I live in Redwood City. None of these cities connected to the names on this blog are accurate as you should know since you are listed as living in Belmont. You really are hung up about Latinos. RWC doesn't have anywhere near the Latino population you claim. Again you make outrageous claims with no factual backing. Many latinos walk or ride bikes because they can't afford cars. Frequently they use Samtrans. You obviously don't know what you are talking about - as many other people have also noted about you on this site. |

There seems to be some confusion in terminology that needs correction!
The Daily News "blog" is called the Forum; the thread is referenced to the article; the post is a reply to the thread or other posts within those threads. The article or post is not the blog! |
