This seems so wrong!
The CARS are going dangerously fast, so we punish pedestrians by outlawing walking across the street??
Maybe we should outlaw motor vehicles on San Carlos Avenue. That would be more appropriate, considering the cause of the danger there.

Oh that makes sense. Part of the problem is this crosswalk is right at the senior citizens center. I drive the area on a regular basis. I have had people, both seniors and younger walk right out into the street in front of me without looking. This area gets a lot of traffic and there is a responsibility for people to watch out for themselves. You walk out into the street into the path of a moving vehicle, that my friend is Darwinism.

What we don't want here is another Foster City where you have a stop sign or traffic light every twenty feet.

Seniors should be aware of their limitations. This does not excuse the drivers. When someone takes ten minutes to cross a striped cross walk that is a hazard all by itself.

Agreed. The City cannot solve all of the problems, it is up to the drivers and pedestrians to be alert.
