The long-awaited death penalty trial of a 26-year-old man accused of gunning down East Palo Alto police Officer Richard May in 2006 begins Monday with attorneys scheduled to deliver opening arguments.

i don't wish death for anybody, but he killed and they should kill him too. He deserves it, the police officer was only trying to help him. The only ones i do fell sorry for his parents and family, my regards.

All i heard is that the POLICE shot FIRST!!
the guy was running away from him and the police shot his leg to try to stop em...

to me that's a cowardly move by the cop

the law should stop protecting cops and start defending the residents 2

cops kill people all the time and nothing happens 2 them but when they kill one of them they wanna give the death penalty to a resident

Please remember officer or not, he had family and now they do not have him.

"all you heard"...So just because a public defender says the Police shot first you believed him? You weren't there, you don't know what really happened, but you automatically judge. Walk a mile in someone elses shoes and perhaps you would be able to see that they are defending you and if you weren't putting yourself in a position that caused the police to be involved there would be no issue. He shot and killed a man in cold blood, and your comfortable making a comment like that? Just a few words for you, ignorance and karma.

of course the boy scout is going to defend the cop... everyone defends the law all the time... look at that cop that killed oscar grant is he facing the death penalty??? NO!!
