Los Altos approves $800K for Westwind

In recognition of the Westwind Barn's importance to the town, the Los Altos City Council will spend $800,000 to rehabilitate the aging facility.

It would have been nice if the Los Altos City Council had approved $800,000 for Westwind Barn because that could have been added to the actual contribution of Los Altos HILLS and there would have been enough money to do the job. At the same meeting, the city of Los Altos did request the town of Los Altos HILLS to contribute to their pool project.
It is extremely confusing when a news story like this gets the names of the two towns confused, even in the headline.

How is it that a publicly-owned facility can remain open after it has been deemed seismically unsafe and in need of "collapse-prevention " work?
