Great article. You are 100% correct. I'm a victim of workers' comp after an injury at work. There was 3 year delay before my surgery was done. I fought tooth and nail via my attorney and sued my company only to protect my rights. When I returned to work, management "punished" me in varioius ways just because I injured myself. I've documented all of this and they have another lawsuit forthcoming. I am tired of being harassed and for their creation of a hostile environment...all because I injured myself at work. My attorney who is not a "deep pocket" person sees the violations that my employer imposes on its employees. How sad and all this expense could have been avoided, had their self-insured claims division covered my surgery and returned me to work in 2 months versus 3years! What a joke. And they wonder why I have an attitude now. They made me feel like a criminal. I was tired of their investigators following me. One even approached me at my doctor's office and followed me home. The expense they incurred was unbelievable. I fell and broke my collarbone in front of 2 witnesses. They shared confidential medical records information with others and violated my privacy. Yes, I will now ask for my life back!
