Kudos to the judge for making the right ruling. Ayres' lawyer didn't look as arrogant in the courtroom yesterday as he normally does.

He will never be tried and if he is, it won't be this year!

This will die in the appellant court or the state Supreme Court. You simply can't go into every patient file to find a victim when you lost all the other victims stepping forward; the victims have to step forward by screening 800 files was an abuse of the search warrant. If they had a name and another name, then that might be another matter, but this was a wholesale fishing. Securing 800 names is ripe for interview abuse verged on the likes of the McMartin Day Care case -- that will be another challenge when their bait (patient) could be intimidation after so many years removed from the doctor/patient privilege! I can see this going to the USSC and the "good" or "bad" doctor is up in age and may not be able to aide in his own defense.

So many imponderables. This is a case where God will judge; the court of public opinion has already thrown the key away!

Huh ? One doesn't know where to start.

The cops didn't lose the names of all the other victims stepping forward. They lost the name of one victim from 1987 and they had all two other names on file. You also realize that they had ten people who came forward after that, in 2004 and 2005. Additionally, they had the name of another man who went to the California Medical Board in 1966.

He will lose in the US Supreme Court because there was a similar issue they reviewed in April of this year. They sided with the government, which means Ayres is out of luck.

The one thing you're right about is that the trial won't be this year. It's slate for January 5, 2008

Solveig Ayres, the good doctor's wife posted on a blog about the arts that the criminal case against her husband was a "witch hunt." The person who ran the blog deleted her comment and others, but someone reposted her comments at the Burlingame Daily News forum:
An excerpt:

10. I don’t believe this is exactly a forum to use to accusations which have been leveled against my husband and which are not true. What you’re witnessing is a modern day witch hunt.. And my husband’s weight, which he would agree is “rather portly” cannot compare with the ballooning up of Minnie in Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. I have had a couple of friends who are approaching being as big as Minnie and my observations are
based on that. However, I’ve said what I have to say about this year’s Shakespeare in Ashland.

Since Dr. Ayres had a long time lucrative contract to evaluate the juveniles at Hillcrest, Camp Glenwood - in spite of the fact that two boys had already gone to the cops and the Medical Board about him - a review needs to be done of how this was permitted to happen. San Mateo County does not care about what happened to all the juveniles who were molested by Ayres at Hillcrest. Many of these boys turned to a life of crime because of what Ayres did to them. They need treatment for trauma due to sex abuse but the sheriffs, cops and DA are too busy busting them to care.

Thanks for the tip on the www.williamayreswatch.blogspot.com

Very informative. Victims and parents of victims and other citizens will be well-served to read it.
The person who created the blog is looking for tips on Ayres. He is not affilated with the police department or the District Attorney's office or - God forbid- Dr. Ayres' legal team. He is a concerned citizen who is trying to help the victims and protect San Mateo County
