My son is going to attend Carlmont next year. I am still wondering why people from East Palo Alto are forced to be bussed across the county when there are other high schools near by.My daughter says the the majority of the students hang out with their friends fro EPA and do not integrate. Finally, their test scores drag down the school rankings.(I was told this by a high ranking administrator) Does anyone have the guts to really look at whether forced busing works and examine the costs of doing so.

Mark,
You are a little misinformed. The school district is open enrollment. Originally (in the 70's) there was forced busing when Ravenswood in EPA closed. Additionally, Carlmont has the highest test scores in the district. |
