Thousands of people packed the sidewalks and streets Friday in downtown Redwood City to celebrate the Independence Day in grand fashion.

The parade and all the surrounding activities were great. I saw Diane Howard the night before putting out trash boxes. She is truly Redwood City's finest citizen.
