Can anybody explain why this thread goes up and down from existence? I don't see any difference except for the removal of sevral posters posts!

Just going by this persons profile .. it says they are an editor for all topix .. nothing to do with being mod.... this person can post articles on all topix things .. but cant edit etc ... so beats me what game this person is trying to do ...

I myself am an Editor for 2 forums .. but I can only post articles thats all editors can do .. we cant remove things .. we can report abuse etc just like everyone else...

yes mine was removed.. i did receive an email from topix saying this was real. so why was my post removed??????????

So this is all news to you too, even with youbeing an editor? Strange, what possible motive could one have for the charade?

Well, I'm a newby here but I'm a well versed activist. This is a Bon Jovi blog so if it starts to get tooooooo off topic in the political slant, I'm guess'n that some occasional flooooks of nature will happen and suddenly for no apparent reason... POOF! Voila! gee wiz Jonboy, why did my post disappear? But of course, that is only MY opinion.

I will go out on a limb here and say this no matter what the hell happens...Topix, it's editors, its mods, its admins and everyone associated with it PLUS 50 cents will get you a 12 oz coffee at Favorite Market. This thread is posted on many different forums as I mainly post on Immigration Reform forum which deals with illegal immigration into the USA. That is why this thread may sound disjointed as the posters will be coming from many different perspectives!

No I think of ppl have misunderstood .. about being an editor.

Anyone can start a topic .. such as this one ... as there is NO news link to the topic/story..... A news story is what Editor puts on here .. but they can only do it for certain topics ... ie: mine is Victoria (Australia) and Islam ... and nothing more... such as: http://www.topix.com/forum/religion/islam/T4E...

I have another question. It appears that this thread appears only for a couple of minutes on the thread lineup on the forum and then it is gone. How so?

All news articles on the node pages are posted by *someone*- most are posted by our editor bot, "Roboblogger" but stories posted by an editor will have their username next to them where it says "Posted By"

Not sure what you mean by credit .. other than you are the person posting that particular news article ...and only editors can do that .. but you dont have to use the news wire articles ... I dont ...I search the web for stories ... or via scratch ... makes it more interesting ...

Or if you are not an editor .. you just start up another topic .. and put all links, stories in the opening post ... which is what I use to do before becoming an editor for the Islam forum ...(and sometimes the stories go to other forums .. like a cross reference ... but you cant say which ones they go to ... topix does that).

And I do have a question. I recall reading in the TOS that a person cannot have more than one log in and yet it seems to be permitted. What's up with that?

We've added a Topix "T" icon next to our moderators' usernames so that you can distinguish between actual Topix staff and regular users. If you mouseover the T, it reads "Topix Moderator."

What I also find amusing is that no matter how many times Topix removes threads that don't belong on certain threads they don't deal with the users who are creating them.

So thanks for pulling the Obama thread from the Tony Stewart forum, but the main problem causer in that thread has created another political thread to go in its place. Hopefully it'll get removed quickly. And she'll continue to do so until someone deals with her.
