glad the s.o.b. is out of here and burning somewhere, Dr. Ohta was my surgeon, to him and his family I remember and Dr. Ohta is the only reason I am not blind.
To Dr. Ohta, I have always remembered you

Which one of Becky Johnson's transients will be the next John Frazier? Just a matter of time...

Derek and I went to school together at the time of the murders I was eight years old at the time. As My mom picked me up from school on Green Street Derek was the last one sitting at the curb. I will never forger waving good bye to my friend and later that night finding out about the murders. May the Ohta and Cadwallader family's rest in peace, finally.

Frazier was damaged goods from the start. A friend lived with him in a foster home back in the 1960's. He broke into a gun cabinet, took a rifle, and killed the family dog. From there I think he went on to California Youth Authority and much worse deeds.

I met J.L. Frasier shortly before the murders. My child was in a stroller and he carried it up some stairs for me unasked. We were both visiting a couple who lived in Capitola Village.
A couple of years later I met Taura Ohta at her birthday party at Pajaro Dunes. At that time in S.C. there was a great deal of occultism, and as we know several serial killers. I decided to raise my child elsewhere.

Right, only the poor and homeless committ heinous acts. Have you been following the Phil Spector trial? OJ was innocent? Remember the DuPoint murders? the Ohta murders were sad enough and the fact that 2 suicides in the family followed, making it all the more tragic. Frazier? At what point did it change for him. We all start out as babies, hopfully in loving arms. For some, things go tragically wrong.

No, hanged is correct, not "hung." Unless, of course, you are talking about his genitals.

I was ten years old at the time. I spent hours on my living room floor staring at those boys faces in the sprawled out newspaper. Why did my mom let me do that? It was way too much to take in at such a young age.

The difference is that Spector and OJ live in Beverly Hills and don't come to Santa Cruz to indulge in our transient outreach program. The fact is that there are murders every year committed by Santa Cruz transients including one notable murder at New Brighton campground during that deranged liberal experiment. My point is that Santa Cruz should not be catering to out of town transients. We simply do not have the resources and end up diluting our homeless service in our attempt to be everything to every homeless and transient. An Ohta like murder will be committed by a transient in Santa Cruz again, the only question is when.

It's Tara, not Taura, and she left a young daughter after her death.

I just don't get the sloppiness of some Sentinel writers. Squires had the ability to review all of the original stories of the SC murders. The Ohta's were targeted, Kemper's mother and her friend were targeted, and at least five of Mullin's victims knew their killer and were targeted in his madness. Mullin did not select all his victims at ramdom.

If I'm hanged what's the point of being hung.

Thanks for thinking of us. We lost a wonderful mother, sister, wife, daughter, my aunt and friend. My cousin has lived most of her life without her mother. Michelle Goodrich
