What a wonderful bit of news! With all the prairie land that's been plowed under for farms and development, a small piece of America going back to it's history. That's great!
I know someone that was in that region hunting several years ago and found an owl impaled on barbed wire fencing and I once found a deer skeleton hanging upside down by the hoof on a barbed wire fence. It's a good bet barbed wire fences kill lots of wildlife so I hope the fences come down soon.

Oh Christ. I followed a couple of turkey vultures out at the back of my property last year and found a dead fawn tangled in an old wire fence. I was sick. I put my tractor in first gear and drove down the entire length of that fence snapping of the posts. Then I hooked a chain to it and dragged it away.
