Hidy Suggesting Massena Y

Mayor James F. Hidy is interested in siting a YMCA in Massena and has formed a committee to investigate the idea.

This is one of the best ideas I have heard for massena people
in a long time.
There is nothing to do in massena except bowling ,movies and
drinking!! thats why there is so much trouble in massena.
massena needs to get more activities for its people,

Let's see,
There was the aquarium.
The Croc center
The race track
Now a YMCA.
The town could not get it together for a Croc center, how will this be any different?

I would rather see our fullest efforts go to try to get that Six Flags here. Jobs and tourist dollars sounds like a better gig to me. But what do I know??

I would love a theme park here, but I believe Massena is a day late and a dollar short. Six flags already has two parks within 3 1/2 hours from here (Montreal is just about 90 minutes away). There is also a large water park (calypso) less than 1 hour from here. If a theme park was to come here it would have to be a competitor of six flags (like Paramount). I have always said if northern NY was smart enough we would approach Disney about a year round park and market it as a "Winter Wounderland" theme.
