I am also a landowner in which I volunteer my land for the trail system, in which if a permit based trail system which everyone is paid to maintain gets put in play my land will defiantly be closed to snowmobiler's also unless i am how would you say...."Paid for people to play" I also bet there are people out there whom feel the same way I do too. Keep it strictly volunteer like it has been for a long time or honestly a lot of trail will be lost by others who feel the same as I do.

Hey, by the way, are you aware that if you receive payment in any form (including a free permit) to allow your land to be used for a trail, you may not be protected any more by the club's insurance or by New York State General Obligations Law? I would check it out with a lawyer to be sure...but demanding payment for a trail going through your land might NOT be the smartest thing to do. That tiny stipend might void your protection against lawsuits. You should check it out to be sure.

Well it looks like the clubs would have to change there insurance policies then cause if other people feel the same as me which I know there are a bunch out there because I have discussed the topic with them it will have to change for use of the land. In which will cost the clubs more money. So therefore it would be in the best interest of everyone to keep everything the same cost its just gonna end up costing more and creating more trouble then its worth!

I travel to Tug Hill and believe a permit trail system would be great. I'd definitely pay extra to ride there. If a permit trail system were in place, the trails would be groomed 24/7, the groomer drivers would be paid and the riding would be sweet!

Ok first off the trails cant be groomed 24/7 because theres so many sleds on em during the day as it is...so you can forget that idea too much of a liability...second of all my club has no problem finding people who volunteer to groom so we don't need to be fricken paid i myself enjoy grooming for FREE!!!! So take your wishful thinking someplace else cause no one wants to hear it!!!

Speak for yourself. Just because you don't want to hear it doesn't mean I can't voice my opinion. There are a lot of people who would pay for a trail pass (it works in Old Forge, Canada, etc). Your small-mindedness gives the other people on Tug Hill a bad name.

Oh, and don't forget. The State of NY is running out of money. What are you going to volunteer for when NY State has no money for your snowmobile club?
