.....and a little painful. It's not the fall that kills you it's the sudden stop at the end.

Yikes! I'd still like to know more. It must have been suicide because that would be one hell of an accident!

I was thinking along the same lines. It's one thing if the parachute doesn't open, but we're taking about a pretty hefty piece of equipment, and it's not like you could just forget about it.

I'm also suprised that NO ONE on that flight thought to mention "hey, don't you think this guy ought to be wearing a parachute?". I can imagine a wrongful death lawsuit developing from this case either way.

It was a suicide. The kid called the skydiving center and asked to go for a ride along in the jump plane to do some photography. He jumped intentionally and took pictures all the way down.

He hit a house.

There was also a suicide out of a hot air balloon last year. I don't mind if people want to kill themselves but affecting the passengers and pilots is simply not fair.

It's a pretty puzzling turn of events, indeed.

Well at least he did it the right way. There is nothing worse than some jackass who tries to commit suicide and fails leaving all around him to feel wierd and having to babysit them all the time in fear that they will try again. Jumping out of a plane at 10000 ft. is pretty much a sure thing. Bravo! Did anyone capture the footage of the free fall? If so, please post it on break.com

The skydiving company is going to be in some hot water. It is a requirement that all ride-a-long passengers in a jump plane wear a parachute and stay belted in the co-pilots seat.

Not sure if it qualifies for wrongful death but the pilot of the plane will lose his license for a while.

We push passengers out all the time. Mostly at a couple of local skydiving centers lol.
