Just goes to show how cowardly people become when they're willing to give up their constitutional rights because of an unwanted steriotype or worried that tension between people will rise. Well if you want to rely on the government to be there to protect you 24/7, go live in europe where people have no way of defending themselves. It's people like this that will allow criminals to run our streets because citizens have no way of protecting themselves. It's obvious our police forces aren't around when they're really needed. Hey while you're at it, let's get rid of right to privacy so we can put cameras anywhere and everywhere, that should keep you and your kids safe right??

what right to privacy are you reffering to. The closest thing to a RIGHT to privacy you have is "unlawful search and siesure."

Gov. Perry is an idiot. If there is enough money behind it, he'll OK just about anything. Look what great ideas he had for his friends in the Toll Booth Business...

I am so glad he will not be our next governor..

If you want to protect yourself, go get a CHL. Then you can carry your gun, which more than likely will be taken from you and used to kill not only you, but also used to take the lives of the very people that you wish to protect. Most people that carry or want to carry guns know no other method to defend themselves and are considered weak to most criminals. Without your guns, you are totally defenseless and would be eaten by the more powerful of our species.

There is no 'right to privacy' even from search and seizure. The Patriot Act allows the government to listen in on your phone, monitor you in public, and allows them to do warrantless searches of your home. Privacy in America.. pfft, doesn't exist, all thanks to our good buddy George W. So glad He's leaving...

Handguns have no place outside of the home.

their is nothing that an elected official fears more than a citizen carrying a weapon, unless it is getting voted out of office, look at all the anti-gun laws they have tried to pass, thank god for the NRA and paul newman

Only problem with open carry is that criminals may grab the weapon from the lawful citizen. Most citizens don't train in weapon retention. Lets keep it concealed. I wholeheartedly agree with CHL's. It does have a startling effect on kids and some citizens to see us strapping out .40 cal's. outside of our jackets, Even when I have my badge displayed prominently it still draws attention. Best to just keep it out of sight.

"...Most people that carry or want to carry guns know no other method to defend themselves and are considered weak to most criminals."

This statement has no merit. nor factual basis. Only the personal opinion of the author. Which is their right. However lets not assume that is is fact. Unless you study the criminal element and sociopathic behavior.

Not intending to offend or be argumentative here D.A. I agree with you partially.

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Leo

Today's Full Moon will affect your love life significantly during the next few months. You might have to say goodbye to someone you care about, or you may realize some difficult truths about your relationship. You may also have to make a tricky decision about a child or a creative project. Although this won't be a very easy time, don't make it worse by over-reacting and turning every hitch into a major drama.
