Yes I would have that right. Whether owning a gun is the best way is debatable.
Well if not with a gun then what? Within the context of what the people of Mexico are experiencing.

Thank goodness that we only have less than two years of that black Muslim's rule, otherwise we would start having to arm ourselves against his regime.

It has been shown time and time again that a well armed civilian population is the greatest deterent to criminal activity. If the Mexican Government wasn't so intent on keeping the peons subjugated and allowed their citizens to arm themselves for self defense then the cartel problem would start to disappear. Many studies show that a criminal hesitates to attack an armed citizen, and will thus look for a more helpless victim.

Really???...debatable? What is your alternative (debated) method to defending yourself from someone who comes in to rape and kill? Would you just talk them to death? Perhaps you would kindly ask them to leave? What about when your annoying pleading drove them to kill one of your family members? Who would you blame? My bet is the NRA...the police...gun stores...etc.(all the people that are not to blame) If you don't want to own a firearm for your protection then that makes you a poor parent and spouse. But that is a choice YOU have to make for YOURSELF. Please don't fight to take away the rights of those of us who know that this world is full of evil people who thrive off of doing us harm and that want to be able to defend ourselves effectively.

And in reference to your other request, media is media. It is either biased to one side or the other on these sort of topics. So finding an article would be a waste of your time and mine. I could find tons of articles that lean to either direction.(Instead I waste my time debating here!) However do your research and you will find THOUSANDS of stories and police reports that show American citizens with guns defending themselves. Mexico is unlikely to report this sort of thing as it would destroy the anti-gun regime that they are trying to create. Just like you will not find these sort of stories in other gun-ban countries' news papers. It would be illogical. Governments such as these want a people who believe that firearms are bad, they don't want the people knowing that guns helped save lives. It is much easier to dictate an unarmed society that doesn't question too much.

Look at the American Revolution, for example. Could we have won with pitch-forks and shovels? Good post Fredd.

You know...the people of Mexico would be wise to learn from that. All they need is to revolt (not only against the drug cartels but against the corrupt government) and set up a new government! Problem solved! It would be nice to go on family vacations to San Carlos again without fearing for my life because I drive a dark SUV. People just don't understand that in order to effectively de-corrupt a government the citizens need to be able to keep and bear arms!

its just a matter of time before the violence in mexico spreads out into the southwest U.S. ....then thats when our military will really step in. and until that happens...i dont see any change for mexico. the cartels are just too big and powerful for the mexican government and its citizens to handle themselves.

Mexico is the problem not guns! If the mexican government could protect its citizens maybe they wouldn't resort to smuggling weapons from our great nation! Maybe its time for mexico to rethink its gun laws instead of trying to take away the rights of US citizens.

"Legal or not, they are ready to use their guns for protection."

The victims are usually the ones without firearms.

"When Alvaro Sandoval, 50, saw four gunmen about to break into his home on an early Sunday morning in January, he stood right by the door. The men knocked the door down, and Sandoval opened fire with his .380-caliber handgun. Sandoval killed three men. The fourth escaped.
It was a story of courage for about a week -- how a man stood his ground against four heavily armed criminals to protect his wife and young daughter. Two weeks later, other gunmen went back and killed Sandoval. This time, his wife, Griselda Pedroza, 35, attempted to repel the attack with a 9mm handgun and died while trying. "

The Mexican Army,(the ones who can be trusted) need to stand arm to arm on the border, in the border towns and crossings to show SOMEONE that they are more than a little bit interested in stopping the corruption and killings.

Mexico's national security and government for their own people's security is a disgrace among "civilized nations".

What a misnomer and contradiction that is.

The evidence of what? A shooting in his home leaving three dead bad home invaders
and one who escaped only to return weeks later and kill the same home owner?

What else do you need, video from various angles? Hell, it MAY exist.
