Sickening. that's all I can say. Well, with exception of the truth. And the truth is that welfare has enslaved and robbed far too many people of their dignity. And the sad part is that the New Democratic Party is blind to what their policies are doing to the people they say they are trying to help.

Barbaric they say. Wow is all I can say without going off on a rant like I usually do when I read anything these people cry about

I received Section8 wehen my children were very small. I worked a job making 250.00 week. As I progressed financially my voucher was cut. I dont regret it as I am an able bodied adult with skills to be self-sufficient. However, Rent in Charlottesville is outrageous. Urban areas such as fifeville, Page St, Ridge St, etc are prime real estate for the uppwardly mobile. Low income, retired, and disabled adults and families appear to be a burden for the city.

I agree that the system is set up for folks to fail. However, each individual is responsible for their own destiny, not a political party.

Charlottesville attorney Jeffrey Fogel said, "What happens when somebody in our community is evicted? The city will then have to provide additional social services. What are the impact on children who are evicted?"

Nothing. They'll throw a fit for a few weeks, then get into the car with rims they were somehow able to purchase, and head to the next city that will give them free housing. Maybe Richmond.

Public housing is a privilege and not a right. Those who enjoy it for over a year need to be very closely examined to ensure that they aren't abusing the largesse of those that trudge to work every day and actually pay federal and state income taxes.

The burden comes in the form of the sixty per cent or so of those Charlottesville adults that don't work or pay income taxes of any type. Yes this is an expensive area and many should consider moving to less expensive locales, perhaps moving in with family or some other option. I have talked to many that refuse to consider the idea of splitting expenses with another family member or maybe a roommate and this type of entitlement mentality is not why public assistance programs were started---and explains why the system is now verging on collapse throughout the nation.

I am so glad I don't have time for this .

Did I hear 200 dolla PET fee.

We are paying these peoples rent and mowing thier grass and they can afford a pet.

Most of the people have no shame .

Somebody close to the Obama hives start capturing some video 24/7 and lets see whats going on .

Share with the c-ville taxpayers and start putting and end to this .

If you cant pay 50 bucks and have kids , pets and smokes or time to sit on the porch in a lawnchair we probably bought too .

You belong in the street and your kids may have a chance with social services.

Mr. Brandon Collins is quite the community organizer. I believe this is the second time I have seen him on TV! If he keeps up like this he can end up hitting the section 8 mother load and live in DC!

A 12# bag of catfood is 41 bucks with tax.

The people are complaining over late fees on a $25 rent .

Pathetic - I wonder what school supplies , clothes and things their kids need that we don't already pay for now but they still go without for for PETS , cigs , beer , dope , big wheels on the cars.

Well , I better get some work done , or find an application for Obama housing and phones.

Public housing was not design for three or four generations to live and retire in. It's ridiculous that people get in the welfare system and refuse to do anything to get out of it. It is not their fault though it's the fault of our lousy governments that continue to bow to their demands just to get their votes. It's not just the welfare system that the govermment stinks at managing look at the post office, DMV, federal deficits, and the list go on and on. It's our government that needs a failing grade.... Buying votes with welfare vouchers is our government policy.

I agree that there is no such thing as collective salvation and each person controls their own destiny. But these people are being brain washed by the left and the media. As soon as anyone attempts to tell the truth about what's really going on behind the scenes they are excoriated and impugned by the Media and Democratic leaders.

But NOT for Virginia it isn't, not even close! How many of you out there would have a roof over your head if you missed your rent FOUR MONTHS in a row? Not at all surprisingly it took a HUD review to interject some common sense and sanity into the Charlottesville welfare state. Now you see why the city is resorting to money grabbing schemes like rainwater runoff taxes to fuel the city council's idea of how the ideal communist welfare commune should be paid for.

Now ask how a person in public housing can afford 30 inch chrome rims and a Lexus. Or maybe a three thousand dollar Tag Heuer watch and a big screen LED TV in every room? Unless a person is REALLY stupid they know how some of the so called poor manage to live large in their own under the financial radar way..........

I have heard it too from those that retired from the social security office that used to be on the downtown mall. This place is welfare central.

When Romney said "it's all about gifts" he was right and that caused the left to moan and groan. Margaret Thatcher is gone but her words live on: The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.

This is why the preppers say they are prepping. Maybe they know something we don't?

When their EBT cards start bouncing we will all be looking for a prepper to hide behind.
