Firearm splits in 3 on hunter
Jason Barnes of Vicksburg spent about 30 days hunting a particular deer. It was a main frame 8-point buck with every bit of a 20-inch spread and appearing to score more than 150 inches.

I had a situation this deer season that relates to this story. My rifle did not blow up but only because I did not fire it. I live and hunt near cotton fields and every fall my home is bombarded by Japanese Beetles, which look just like lady bugs. When it gets cold these beetles will congregate anywhere they can find warmth or shelter. I will often leave my rifle outside at night so my scope doesn't fog up when I go hunting in the mornings. I had fired my rifle a few times one evening at my home then I put it in the gun rack of my electric atv. It seems that the beetles discovered the heat coming from the barrel and they packed themselves inside as tight as they could. I didn't discover the beetles until after season was over and I cleaned that rifle. There's no doubt in my mind if I had fired that rifle it would have blown the barrel out because they were packed in there so tight.
