Why is it then that groups of people that are animal rights advocates promote violence as part of their operating procedure?

Activist animal rightists represent a tiny minority of the population; far less than one half of one percent. The number of "true" vegans is estimated at about 600,000. Don't confuse these two groups, Most vegans are reasonable, law abiding citizens. Powerlessness to effect change through normal political channels has spurred some animal rightists to turn to criminal activity. Like any fascist ideology, they will fail.
