Can you please DEFINE assault rifle?
Would you know one if you saw one?
How does an "assault rifle" differ from a "hunting rifle"?

I'm rather certain your are scratching your head right now.

I can't beleive i'm gonna do it...tell Jesus to shut up. SHut Up jesus. your cut and paste arguments are not helping your casue.
Whether a firearm is an assalt weapon has no importance upon misuse of a firearm. It is not the weapon, but the conciousness, or carelessness behind that weapon that makes it dangerous!

Just what are you referring to as an "assault rifle" for hunting.
The Winchester Model 70, as well as the Remington 700 (and variations of this rifle) are popular firearms in the hands of hunters. These firearms have equal positive footing on the battlefield in the hands of snipers. Do you classify these as assault rifles?
Maybe you are referring to the AR-15 style rifles available to civilians with some changes...that have gained support among varmint hunters?
But you aren't specific. Just what do you mean when you say assault rifle?
Every tool is a weapon if you hold it right. A hammer is just as deadly as a .357 Magnum, a .308 cal Model 70, or a .223 cal AR-15.
Your appeal to fear is misguided, and you need to clarify your point...if in fact you have one...beyond cutting and pasting the same old hogwash you try to pass off as the truth repeatedly.

So own up, clarify your point...maybe you could even start posting your own opinions other than regurgitating the opinions of others you seem to revere.

Until they clarify what they mean, I have to assume my 1903 Springfield is an assault rifle. It was the preeminent military firearm of its day. Or maybe my lever-gun, wasn't the Henry the equivalent of an assault rifle during the Civil war? How about my original muzzle-loader or the Starr carbine, both were used in the same war..

I could go on but it is rather pointless. The new .458 they make for the AR-15 platform looks like it was made for deer. I have seen a 7.62X39 and an M1-A1 used for deer hunting.

Truthfully, most of the rounds used in "assault weapons" are anemic for deer. The .223 is illegal in MD because it isn't powerful enough. When someone can tell me the functional difference between a Remington Auto-loader and an "Assault rifle" I will give them my Jeep. The only answer I have heard is "It looks mean". LOL

Of all the threats we have received, over 90% come from deer hunters. Our preferred tactic for this type of sab is to assume the roll of the inconsiderate hunter. Walk loudly through the brush. If you hear a deer call, fire at a dirt mound. Basically, make yourself a pain in the ass while still appearing to be a hunter.

Deer are sensitive to noise and sound, stand upwind of a hunting ground and spray some cheap perfume. smoke a cigar or pipe while hunting. Hang perfumed soap in camo bags from trees in a heavily hunted area.

Typically Hunters can be in the woods 1 hour before dawn and 1 hour after sunset, any longer and they are probably poaching, check local regulations and always report them.

Deer stands and blinds-

Most deer in the US are shot by assholes hiding in blinds or stands. Either resting on the ground or on 3 or 4 legs, stands will usually be on private property, but this is not always the case. Deer stands will be found near paths, at one end of a clearing (A feeder will usually be within a few hundred feet.), or by railroad tracks.

Not so legal tactics for deer stands and blinds-

1. If possible, remove the deer stand from the area either by dismantling or toppling it over an embankment.
2. Remove and destroy the ladder.
3. Remove the corn from the feeder and use it to fill the stand.
4. Most stands contain chairs. Cover them in your favorite substances. Examples include: urine; grease; pepper spray; and (our favorite) a combination of fly attractant, excrement, and molasses.
5. If the door is locked, superglue locks (don't forget the hinges).
6. Remove or destroy the chairs inside.
7. Leave a bucket or other container full of standing water close to the deer stand to create a mosquito farm.
8. See the section on repellants for more info and plant options CONT

In the proper caliber for deer there is absolutely nothing wrong with using ANY firearm to shoot deer. Is that plain enough.
