stay away...warning...do not do this trip....its terrible!!
I love it and don't want it spoiled by too many people...I recomend the WHOLE RIVER TRIP.... the canopy of trees is just beautiful.... stop at trapper nelson's for lunch...enjoy a little fishing....
and then continue into JD state park...The park use to be GREAT before wilma took all the trees..
its a nice trip, you almost feel like you not at "Home"
and Jimmy jonesq..you are a dope..why don't you STAY OFF THE RIVER

I have no idea which river you are talking about but certainly you must be mistaken. There is no way anyone can be on this river begging unless they want to be eaten by an alligator.

Can't go in too deep from the west with youngsters, some river current and obstacles. Can be tricky, in spots.
From the east, Jonathan Dickenson State Park is more suitable for general population.
Be prepared with some food, water, hats and the like.
