Minnesota is to license surfboards - now that is NUTS! Perhaps I need to license my waterski too?

"The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is expected soon to classify them as a watercraft and require a license"

Isn't that just Minnesota for ya?

You can rent a SUPB (Stand-Up Paddle Board) at Lake Calhoun during the Summer. I think it's like $15 per hour or roughly the same price as a canoe. It's pretty fun. I've done it at least 4 or 5 times last Summer with friends and it's a pretty enjoyable to spend a Hot Summer evening/weekend. I doubt I'd pay $1500 for my own board though... Costco sells a cheaper-made foam board for around $300 to $400... but I'd imagine that it's not as sturdy.
