How horrible to be a part of that accident, and then lose a parent and sibling. She had enough sense to walk to find help. This is a testiment to good training of a child.

For the person that commented....."People: Do. Not. Canoe. Near. Dams. Ever."

Don't speak without knowing facts. Both men were very outdoorsy men that did canoeing and hunting every day. Being by the damn was not their choice. The force of nature is what forced them to end up there. Bless both families and prayers with the young girl and her mother.

It's just an indication of the state of the newspaper business these days.

What a terrible accident. That young girl is courageous.

I pray that those making comments about our lost family never suffer loss like we have and then have a stranger call their lost loved ones "stupid." Both men knew more about the outdoors than anyone I know. Please have some compassion for our family and do not use this site for your entertainment or insulting comments.

Who said they knew, or not, that there was a "sam" there? Thank you for your brilliant comment.

I pray every day that stupid people will not be so stupid, but to canoe over a dam is pretty stupid. And to say they didn't know there was a sam there is even more stupid.

The one's making those comments on here are miserable, heartless little trolls looking for anything to get a rise out of people so they can argue.

My heart goes out to both familes, what a horrible tragedy! I couldnt imagine what you all must be going through right now. What a brave little girl! I am so sorry for all here who's lost a loved one.

Would it be too hard to put up a warning sign? Or would that be too much government meddling for you wackos?

I pray for your loss, I myself am very avid outdoors type, been on water all my life, and the experience is always different anytime you go on water. I've come close many times not always on my stupidity, but the pure force of nature. So people who dont even no how to respect nature, should just keep there coments to themself, or hey go out and enjoy nature, and if it kills ya don't say i told ya so, cuz it will come to bite you, and very hard if it does. Peace love and happiness to the ones goin threw this tragedy.

Isa is a brave little girl, her sister Sierra and dad Jeremy were peas in a pod, he showed them hunting, fishing, and every thing he knew about being outdoors, he worked at the state park there in South Dakota, and either way you put my little cousin Isa was very brave and knew exactly where she was, how to communicate, and where her family members were, she made it through brush and dense forest to get help, so two miles or two hours how the heck cares! The point IS SHE IS ALIVE! SHE lost her daddy and big sister and now only has my cousin Rachael, and Rachael only has her one baby instead of two and no husband, out your self in her shoes and quit talking about dumb unimportant things. This is MY family and I really dont appreciated it.

i am a close family friend of the rogers/sifuentes family, my heart is broken for loss of these beautiful people, while i didnt know andy my prayers are with his family... where do you people get off saying rude and hurtful comments? you didnt know this family you have no right to judge anyone.. u might want to get your facts straight before you run your ugly mouth... jeramy was an avid outdoorsman and loved bein outside, he showed his girls from the time they could walk, the outdoor life... they will all be missed...so those who want to say crap about this accident please dont open your mouth.. respect both familes and dont say or write anything on here thats goin to upset them even more... i knew jeramy and knew he would have done everything in his control for this not to happen, you cant help what nature does... god bless you racheal, and andy's family....
