They seem to have muddled the story here. the man from Goshen drowned with canoeing? drowned with canoing (notice the correct spelling of that word) makes no sense. Also, he was from Goshen, fishing in Woodbridge and they took him to a hospital in Torrington? Why. Torrington is pretty far from Woodbridge. They have hospitals in New Haven, Ansonia, Milford, Meriden, and other towns all of which are closer than Torrington.

I am quite sure it should have read: while canoeing instead of with..........

People don't always fish in the town they are from.

Sad that the poor guy drowned.
Very very sad...

Woodridge Lake (spelled with an "r") is in the town of Goshen (Litchfield County) between Beach Street and Milton Road. He was not in the town of Woodbridge.

Rich was my first cousin and one of my best friends. He and his wife and my wife and I had so many wonderful times together,(Martha's Vineyard, Werner Theater, family gatherings). He was the best.....Rich, we are going to miss you!
Everyone, please be extremely careful when on the water this time of year. The water is still so cold that hyperthermia becomes a problem almost immediately after falling in.

This happens every spring. It's 75 outside so people think it's summer and go do summer things like windsurf or canoe. I've been kayaking since march, but I always wear a pfd and till the water gets warmer I stay close to shore. I also bring a change of clothes with me in a waterproof bag.

And I'm not OLD!

You are such a dweeb , before you make a dumb comment get your facts strait . We have an old man who died doing what he loved to do and all you can do is bash something . Atleast this time you made a total fool of your self !
My heart goes out to the family of this man !

Crazy Man: I didn't post anything to offend the people involved, and you'll notice how they recognized that. My critique was with WTNH's grammar. But you'll notice that I handle most comments like yours differently. You attack, I defend. You incite, I discuss. You have some issues.

All: My mistake as to the name of the lake.

Valkyrie is right. WTNH is always misspelling things. My favorite is when they spell the town of "Meriden" as "Meridan".

Yeah "Woodridge" is a lake in Goshen. "Woodbridge" is a crappy town near New Haven.:) The hospital in Torrington would be the closest hospital to Goshen.

Geeze, Shadow, I started liking what you said, then you insulted Woodbridge. I lived there for 13 years. It is one of the wealthiest and safest towns in all of Connecticut. Why would you call it crappy?

Ohhh, I get it now. I worked in Seymour a few times. Yeah, the whole valley along with Bethany and Orange pretty much hate Woodbridge.

I prefer the people in Bethany to the people in Woodbridge any day of the week, but even the valley has some very nice areas like Rimmon Hill or Blackberry Road, or Quaker Farms Road (more in Oxford, though).

No, honestly, I don't hate Woodbridge, it's nice. I did live in the valley for 7 years and I was sick of it. Really enjoying NW CT right now.

Funny "Crazy Man" should jump in here, because I grew up in Rockfall where he claims to be from. That's actually my favorite part of the state.

There's a great forum at
www.city-data.com/forum/connecticut/ if you like to talk about the state.

Hey Crazy man, YOU need to get your facts straight. Hopefully you'll admit you were wrong.

Connecticut places ranked by per capita income:
16) Woodbridge New Haven County Per Capita:$49,049 Median household income:$102,121 8,983 3,103
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Connecticut_loca...

That's out of 245 towns Mr Smart Guy, so yeah, Woodbridge is one of the wealthiest towns in the state.

And if you don't believe Wiki, you can go to the US Census Bureau's page for Woodbridge here: http://censtats.census.gov/data/CT/0600900987...

--Just admit you were wrong Crazy Man and I'll leave it alone.
