just picked up a 1958 Terry- 18 footer. I am now the second owner and have some minor ceiling panel patching to do on an otherwise well kept original. My exploration of the web does not yield much and lead me here. The tin can tourist site doesn't have much to say about Terry's of this age. Has any one out there dug any thing up? Any progress on finding logo replacements. I have the pink slip but am in need of an owners manual as well. Thanks

HI, I just picked up a shorter 1958 Terry canned ham trailer-maybe 12 feet. I would love to find out if you get any more info on Terry's of this age. Thanks!

I have a 1967-69 Terry Trailer, sleeps 4-6. Has stove, Japanese refrigerator (like a small regular fridge with adjustable shelves and a freezer) that works. Also has a bathroom. I am looking to sell. It is in fair shape. Any one interested? Other than the fridge, most everything is original.

Howdy, I just purchase a 12ft. Terry Travel Trailer and it's had some water damage here and there and I've taken care of all that but now it's the Propane part that I have to check out and fooling around with that gas makes me a little nervous, does anyone have some kind of an old owners manuel that would tell me about this part? You all take care, Mel in Montana

Hi Mel, I don't know what year your 12 fotter is, by the gas system on my 58 is pretty simple. My system goes from the front Propane tank through the floor to under the seat above the water tank. From there it tee's off to the propane lamp above that seat and over to the oven and stovetop. In my case, the propane tank had been off for a length of time. Dirt and debris clogged the hard propane line and I had to clean it out. If yours is clogged, feel free to ask me how I did it.
Basically, Propane Gas is dangerous to work with!! I CANNOT EMPHASIZE THE DANGER ANY MORE. You must make sure you have tight connections and no leaks. Use the "soapy bubble" method to test for gas leaks. Usually there is no reason FOR PAST OWNERS to disconect the gas pipes, so you have a good chance that the connections are ok. Visibly look at all the lines-make sure they don't look bent or twisted.
In my case, when I did the final test to see if the stove and lamp worked, I had all the windows open and the door and roof vent. I had my wife stand far away behind a big tree with her hand ready to dial 911 in case there was an issue. Fortunately, no major problems. I has to fix a couple minor leaks. Good luck-and be safe!

Hi Mrsmiley, Thank you for writting back. My Terry Trailer is a 1961 (that was wise of me to forget to say what year it was) anyways, it's was sitting unused for sometime and I would like to blow the lines out just in case. The previous owner was living in it while he was going to college and I'm sure all he used was the electric and he told me he didn't have the smarts to fix things on the Trailer. (this was after he graduated from college, this county is starting to worry me). But any information would be helpful, Take care, Mel.

i got the currant registration with mine show that the frame number is only aprox: 1/2 of the serial number, my serial # is on a tag at the bottom of the door on the outside, the tag is a dept of transportation tag from the state of Idaho
that matches the registration. i look forward to seeing photos of yours, since buying mine iv'e gotton quite the bug about vintage trailers and enjoy collecting info on them. im hoping to find one from the 40's some day. if you can't post the photos i can give you my email, let me know

I was given a 63 Terry trailer. I has the original toilet and shower. The rest is pretty rough. Any pics floating around or even a floor plan? If you could send them to [email protected], that would be great.

Hi guys!
I just came across a 1960 Terry trailer for $100 off craiglist. Most of the interior is stripped. Just a stove and sink left really. I have the pink slip. Just like the previous poster I can not find ANY information on this trailer. The previous owner did not have any other paper work or anything. I am clueless on where to start! Would love to know what this little gem is supposed to look like on the inside and how was the outside orginally painted??? Any help would be great!!
I hope I am doing this reply correctly. I am trying to find a pic or numbers off of the water heater.

We bought a 1956 14ft Terry a couple of years ago. The body is in pretty good shape, however it had been painted with low gloss latex enamel. The interior is all original with no water stains on the beautifully aged birch paneling. The electric fridge /ice box and three burner stove still work great . The propane lamp located over the four top dinette still works as well. There is a chrome " T" ( for Terry) mounted on the exterior, adjacent to the door. Other than replacing the axle and leaf springs, and having aluminum screens made for the operable windows, we have not had to do anything to this classic camper. It is really a treasure. I have looked at hundreds of photos of 50's trailers in the various sites but have yet to come across a Terry that has the side storage compartments between the door and the trailer hitch.

I would love to see a picture of your 12.5 foot Terry trailer. We had one when I was a kid in the 60's. Cab over was great. So many fond memories camping all over Washington State. Please let me know how I can contact your iif you have time. Just ran across one from 2961 in Shoreline WA. 17 feet...all Vintage in tact.
