Honestly.....he and this very tight net family have suffered enough! This poor man has to look at his brother & know that he is partially the reason the once love of his life is gone at his fault and on top of it only one month from there wedding date and instead of walking with her down the isle in her white gown he buried her in it...although the adults made that decision themselves to get on that boat...just as a vehicle we have the choice to say NO i'm not riding with you! The children i totally understand and were following the lead of there parents. Now if this had happened to you and you had to live with this decision you made for your children/family for the rest of your life would you also want to be prosecuted & put in jail for a looooooooooong time? No i doubt it. And being a very stong family they will never forget but i'm sure will forgive because accidents do happen. What if u go out & kill someone while driving on accident? would you want to go to jail for a looooooooong time?
Honestly everytime he looks at his family he will feel the guilt and pain of that one bad choice he made.
I hope that God can help him find the peace to deal with this.

Horseman stated that he was a fireman and new first hand of what he was talking about.

Horseman was one of those guys that did all of the good things you said firemen do.

I hope you are kinder to Horseman now.

Are you basing something personal on each and every man and woman in the fire service?
I think Patrick has been traumatized by the unprofessional behavior of the HFD.
It is truly sad that they would cause so much sadness, anxiety and fear just for their enjoyment!!!

This man made a huge mistake, a mistake that he has to live with the rest of his life and his families. He drove a boat that every person on that boat took personal responsiblity to get on. He may have been over the limit but all parents on that vesel knew he had been drinking so that is their resposibity. I feel for his family and all they are going through but life is about making good decisions and he made a bad one but this man has given his life to community service and saving lives and like most people he had a moment of bad judgement, however RIP, Miss. Brady and the people who decided that he was the best person to operate the vesel. They did not have to get on it, again personal responsibility. I am a parent and would never let a person that i "thought" was intoxicated be responsible for my child. It is the parents who should be charged with neglete(if anyone should). However This man made a mistake that will effect his closes family and his extended family and his lively hood for the rest of his life. He has to live with that for the rest of his life is that not the worst thing that could ever happen to him. I am thinking of you and your whole family and hope that your commentment to saving lives gives you comfort even though i understand that it is extremely hard to forgive yourself or (him) for this incident. This is nothing but a complete accident with to many moments that could have been changed and hind sight is 20 20 I would say good luck but I know at this point you just want to provide for your family and friends so God Bless and Hope you and your family can lean on each other for the support that all of you need

Horseman, I am not sure where you worked but I work in a department that has about 500 employees and yes I know a few that have drinking issues but that is far from "MOST". My point about this whole thing is that yes he was a fireman but that has nothing to do with it he was a man that was drinking and he got behind the wheel.....he has crushed some families and I am sure many dreams of these young peopel. My point is that when a Fireman or a Police Officer get into trouble it is plastered all over the media adn it makes all of us look bad. When a banker or a construction worker the media does not bash all bankers or construction workers, the story is in the news yes but a whole group of people dont take the rapp.

good. he needs to go to jail for a longggggggggggggggggggggggg time. His affilation with the **** poor Richmond Fire Department should make no difference.
Like I said earlier their parents were there too where is their resposibility. Not to mention the fact that he spent his life saving people and one mistake that almost every person has made makes him a crimial. People go to jail for less time for crimes worse than a mistake that a group of people are responsible for. Yes it is a terrible thing that a young lady died due to this but she decided to board the boad after drinking with him. Personal Responsiblity

why is everyone focusing so much on the fact that he is a fireman? personally, i think that is wrong for several reasons. he has to take responsibility for what he did and he has to own that for himself. to blame that on being a "fireman" is not fair to other firemen in this world. just because he did this and is a fireman does not have anything to do with any other fireman out there. that is wrong to continue to associate his actions to "firemen"!!! this was HIS OWN ACTIONS and HE HAS TO OWN THEM!!

i think it's great that people are praying for his family but let's then pray for all families who lose loved ones due to drunk drivers. i don't think we should only be praying for this family. why not show our compassion for others as well??

this is a terrible tragedy and hopefully a lesson can be learned from it...one being NOT to get into a boat with a driver who has been drinking. it's not only cars that kill...boats do also!!!!

That is honestly not a very smart comment, All people have those problems. When was the last time you ran towards danger and looked at a fire or gun head on. seriously, this people put there lives one the line every day to protect people and give all they have and at the end of the day if they want a drink so be it. No it is not okay to get mebind the wheel of any moving object but all of the adults on that boat should have been able to make a better decision. Drinking problems really most of the officers in fire departments and police work go through more stress than you could ever imagin

most of you have already convivted this man..God has already punished him with a lifetime of regret for having made a very bad choice.

So what if he is a fireman everyone is human none of us are god and We All make mistakes and bad judgements at times..

He is living in a lifetime of hell over his wrong choice..
