Witnesses say the lights were NOT on.
Senile Dementia defense witness performs outdated and antiquated circuitry tests.
No lookout posted on the sailboat.
Entire sailboat crew under the influence including the driver, who has a history of alcohol related arrests.
There is NO speed limit on Clear Lake.

Fort Jones CA - another area thats a bit backwards but they also seem to have a better rep regarding law enforcement etc.
Only way this gets fixed is if voters of Lake county start supporting the truly qualified and proper people for public offices.///////

Well Capt Pissgums your are wrong about those folks being backwards in Ft. Jones. Siskiyou County is a lot more rural than Lake County in most respects. The folks like it like it is. There are still the same kinds of problems like in Lake County without that sh!tty lake.

Here's proof that Haltom's plan to poison the jury pool is working. Another voice added to those who think they are the judge and jury. When you know your case is weak, you do exactly what Haltom is doing.

You may have very well been wronged by the court system in this county.

However, it is simply stupid to post a message such as this, no matter how angry you are.

Phi, don't forget the thousands of dollars Hopkins has burned on loser prosecutions. They cost big money.
Any candidate will do. Hopkins must be put out of office.
Phil, please take the initiative and get a recall going. Lake county needs you.

I believe you will see you're not exactly right on this one.
Two experts with some 700 cases of experience will be on the stand testifying they were on and how they came to that conclusion, as well as the DoJ "expert" with all of FIVE cases of experience who failed to test the circuit properly, if at all.
Just so you're clear the DOJ expert who examined the light is NOT the same person as the Sacramento Sergeant who investigated the crash. I suspect the person at the Department of Justice who examined the lights will turn out to be someone who is state certified, experienced and educated to a much higher degree than Wes Dodd and Chilcott.

DUI at least. The problem here is that a woman lost her life. The trial will shed light on the entire incident. If a DUI were the only consquence of the accident, it would seem to be more "covered up". Hopefully, facts presented in the case will provide closure to all concerned. But again, one fact is undeniably true. If you are drunk, do not get behind the wheel of a vehicle, or a sailboat.
Agree.......and let's not forget another fact that als UNDENIABLY TRUE: If you are operating a speedboat at night DON'T SPEED RECKLESSLY. SPEED KILLS....as it did in this case, and Lynn Thorton lost her life!!

I guess I should have said all of the evidence, not just what someone said on a blog or what was reported by the media.
You are correct that all of the sailors were drunk. Perdock was completley sober.
The one at fault, who caused the death of another should face the maximum. Dinius is being held accountable. The only one, in my opinion, getting away with anything, is weber. I believe he is as much at fault for this terrible tragedy as dinius.
<quoted text>
the author correctly points out this was a NOTsimple collision, it was a ramming that occured because basic maritime laws were broken by PERDOCK, primarily FAILURE to maintain a safe speed for the visabilty conditions. NO ONE can dispute the FACT that perdock was going too fast and in ANY fair legal system he would have been cited for that.
THE ONLY PEOLE WHO BELIEVE OTHERWISE ARE PERDOCK"S FRIENDS, objective observers who don't have a dog in this fight (like me) are at least 95% against Dinius being charged for anything beyond BUI.

Hopkins will lose this case, it won't even be close.

ordinarily this would be pretty bad form, but in a-drain's case those of us who know him are convinced that his damage potential is really pretty limited, if it can't be done with a keyboard or a remote control it probably ain't gonna happen!

PM-

Wow was threatening and trying to intimidate G and O on another thread, regarding allegedly inciting people to riot at the courthouse.

AV's continuing use of incendiary speech is no less threatening, but we don't see Wow jumping down his throat and posting partial penal code sections as if performing a public service.

Wow's agenda is clear, as is AV's.(sometimes, they seem to be one in the same)

Good for the goose, good for the gander.

I highly doubt that individual has more experience (about 700 investigations worth) than Dodd or Chilcott.

Nothing new about "ramming" it's been stated many times with this case.
Ramming: hitting with force of which the momentum of the "RAM" being sufficient to damage the target. RAM refers to hitting a target (the sailboat) by running oneself (Perdo's speedboat) into the target. Sorry for your lack of comprehension.

Just arrest the guy who plowed 4000 pounds of outlaw on the sailboat and killed Lynn Thornton.

Just convict the drunken helmsman of the sailboat who with the rest of the impaired crew were sitting dead in the water with no running lights or lookout. He alone is guilty for causing the death of another.
