I can not believe all of the grammatical mistakes in this article. Tamara Vaifunua should take a grammar class.... Although online reporters/citizen journalists have to be quick, they should remain professional.

I'd don't think I'd be sailing an 8 man vessel without a gun in the first place. Glad no one was hurt. arrrrr!

BOOM! Headshot! Seriously though all boats should allow rifles with scopes for protection when on sea and at least one crew member has to have a pistol for when docked. These cowards want easy targets, don't make it so easy.

I don't think this guy was a pirate at all, probably some drunken out of control carribean guy on a bender. Chances are the authorities know who he is and can find him. If he were a real pirate, he would have done far more damage and robbed them, don't you think? Send in the Russians, they know how to handle pirates.

ironic that you would take a weapon on a humanitarian trip...I'm just saying...

Is it not humanitarian to protect yourself from harm or do you become unhumanitarian for caring about your own well being? At minimum several tasers need to be onboard.

I hardly call that a pirate attack. It wasn't a planned attack on a boat. It was a random assault by one person.

I admire people for wanting to do the right thing.
These filthy 3rd worlders do NOT care about America, or Americans & would just as soon kill you as look at you.
I say focus on the people HERE in OUR country, & quit giving "aid" to ungrateful lots who do NOT deserve it. The reason that their "countries" are the way they are, is because of who occupies them.
You can NOT (& will NOT) win these peoples hearts & minds. If they wanted things to be better, they would MAKE them better, rather than just breeding, & blaming the US for their own conditions, with their hands held out. Send them contraceptives, if anything.

This looks like he was wanting a tax write off for a sailing trip. Why not just send the supplies?

No guns allowed in the Carib, pardner. You will be sitting in a jail paying a fine when they search your boat after you arrive at port.

"I'll be taking a gun called the judge and I'll be the jury" ??? I thought you folks were missionarys. Yes, you should be able to defend yourself, but I thought Jesus preached,'Judge not lest ye be judged'. Stay in America kids!! Try helping the people in your own country first.

The Judge! That is a great gun! You can put long gun slugs in it or small guage shot gun shells in it or mix them up! It's actually a gun marketed to real judges for self defense.
