Agency suggests minimal boating on Upper Chattooga
#1 Jul 3, 2008
With the hundreds of boatable creeks in the area, one would think that the Kayaker lobby would leave one stream alone so that anglers could have a disturbance-free expereince during high waters
It is a shame the USFS have placated the whines of these boating brats. At least they did not completely cave into the rants of these special interest lobbyists.

I think the forest service needs to make a decision and stick to it and they should have done so some time ago. Boaters will not be happy with any amount of research done until the outcome is that the river be opened in its entirety. Hikers, conservationists and anglers won't be happy if the river is completely open.
Whatever the decision, a lawsuit is bound to be the outcome ... instead of dragging this out, they need to get it over with.
