"Remember that wearing life preservers is the law when boating Yolo County waterways."
Life jackets are only required to be worn by anyone under 12 years. You are required to have one life jacket on board available for each person in the vessel but if over 12 years old you are not required to wear a life jacket.
Is there a different law for kayaks and canoes?

Any story about "Discovering Yolo County's Waterways" is woefully incomplete without at least a cursory mention of Cache Creek. Why was Cache Creek ignored?

If you read the article, it's real clear to only enter and exit on public property. Says it twice, in fact. You're just trying to stir up anger for no reason. Why don't you tell us who you are and where your property is so we can avoid you? You going to 'arrest' all those kids canoeing on the creek during the Camp Putah summer camp? Also, you can ask people to leave, but if you hold them at gunpoint you are the one who will be arrested for unlawful detention. People can only be cited for trespassing if they refuse to leave, not if you hold them illegally. Lastly, Putah Creek is a navigable waterway up to the high water mark, so you'd be violating federal law if you tried to prevent use on the water. agreed: LOL @ you.
