While the concerns about boats are valid and public education and awareness is a very good thing, most boating activities don't create waves anywhere near as large as those found naturally occurring on any Summer afternoon. The exceptions might be the West shore area due to normal offshore wind direction, and the recent growth in the popularity of Wake surfing, with the larger wakes generated. The marker buoys are a terrific idea to protect the major rookeries. But in spite of the obvious diminished human activity on the water in recent years due to various factors, there still has been a marked and surprising lack of young Grebe chicks.

While it is a subjective observation, I have been carefully monitoring the Grebes as a favorite fellow resident. I'm on the water here at least two times a week and have not had to alter course to dodge Grebes with piggyback chicks, nor have I heard the incessant begging cheep of the adolescents; a sound that carries a great distance. I have observed the usual amounts of adults and adults "activities".

Hopefully, other areas of the lake have better results from this year's breeding.

Yes Grebes are a fasinating bird, I observed them all summer long eating every hatching bass, minnow, shad, bluegill, frogs, and so on. Just lovely they are keeping are waters free from any fish.

I do not see anything about the brown out that we had. My paper wasn"t delivered on Saturday (it should have been). I figured that something that important, the brown out, would be in tha paper and on line too. What's going on?

I wrote that my paper was not delivered on Saturday. I want to know what happened and why we had the brown-out. Please do not erase this and tell me that a comment cannot be blank.

Oh look, poser's back - our court appointed child molester has done his time for violating the terms of his probation. Now we know in Lake County you can harm children and do no time - but violate the terms of your probation and you do get some time.

Great sense of priorities in the Lake County Just Us system.
