Great title "Dinius fires back" The county needs to pay up for what they did to Dinius. They can pay now or later, later being more $$, but they will pay-they owe it to Dinius.

If it goes to trial it will be in federal court because it's a civil rights lawsuit.

will eventually cost the County thousands in legal fees. The case will last ten years easy.

The tax payers of Lake Co. should NOT pay a dime of the money that he will get. D.A. Hopkins, Sheriff Mitchell and his boys should pay out the A-- on this one!!!

A lesson from the legal system with out justice. The money will be payed and the corruption goes on. We will be the ones to pay and Mitchell and Hopkins will laugh all the way to their retirement.

Maybe LC will cut their losses, avoid the courtroom, reduce legal fees, do the right thing, make Dinius a much deserved offer and get on with cleaning house.

This story broke on Monday. Why you the Record Bee and the online Lake County News are now today four days later printing the Story. It's a wonder?
Again this story broke Monday and was on the ABC news Tuesday evening.

This will be a multi million suit and it will cost this County, and all of us too.

The Jury got it right, however Hopkins prosecuted the wrong man, and now we must all pay for his and Mitchells mistakes.

Other federal law suits in the works, Beland, EEOC, Helicoptergate, and a host of others. I guess that pot hole in front of my house won't get fixed anytime soon?

Completely inappropriate, unsupported and perhaps actionable as was the publishing of the Hopkins letter before the trial, a clear attempt at jury pool tampering and defendant sandbagging.

I say pay Dinius off right now and be glad he is not asking for more. Take the money out of the DA's budget over five years and fire Hopkins yesterday. If this goes to trial Dinius will get $3 million in a "slam-dunk" minute. Get rid of this and Hopkins; the sound coming out of the Forbes Street palace and monument to stupidity is a big flush, gurgle, gurgle....

Oh Hoppy uh just wanted to give you a piece of legal advice, when ever you are prosecuting a criminal case oh lets say manslaughter for example, you never want to try and sway potential jurors by oh you know standing in front of a court house or something, and saying nasty things about the defendant oh you know for example uh drunken sailor or something, because that would be really stupid, and then and who knows if this would happen, you would totally blow the case, and the person could come back and bury your ass in a lawsuit that takes you the sheriff, and the county you live in into the depths of despair, and then your collusion with the sheriff is reveled and well just you know a bit of basic, dumb guy legal advice.

This letter has been sent to both Mitchell and Hopkins as well as the BOS, we are asking the BOS to release a statement asking these two people to step down and resign their postions
Notice to Sheriff Mitchell and DA Hopkins
Fm: The Citizens of Lake County seeking justice and transparency
The events of the past two days portray even more difficult times ahead. The citizens of this county cannot allow for your continued involvement in the operations of our county. We are asking that both of you vacate your positions by Febuary 15th 2010, this should allow ample time for temporary replacements to be in place and conditions met for your departure. Both of you have a hard and difficult criminal defense to attend to, and it is clear in the end the outcome will not bode well for you. You cannot drag the citizens of this county down the road with either of you anymore. You must be gentlemen concerning this.
When gentlemen ingage in the game of chess, the King is tipped over by the losing player when it is quietly understood the game is over and mate is approaching. Mate is approaching for both of you, the condition of your departments is unacceptable by any standards. Change is need and a new board set up to play. Both of you set aside your arrorance and ego, we and you both know the time is near. Tip your kings over, we have in mate there is no need to continue on. At least leave the game with respect. This county needs to heal and it cannot heal with either of you in place.
