This survivor will never be the same. You know he saw his friends drown but can't say it.

Some of these comments show we have long a way to go in race relations in this country.

No need to comment on all the MORONIC comments above. Only extremely SAD people make comments like that.
However, ANYONE who has a boat or plans to get a boat make SURE you take the Coast Guard Class. 80% of the people out there have NO idea of what they are doing out there. SAVE Your OWN lives. There is a TON of things you need to know out there.

This story truly upsets me to my very core....i feel so bad...what a horrible way to die. I am a parent of a two year old and that kind of pain is unimaginable. My heart goes out to thier families and i pray to god that they drown quickly and peacefully.

Believe it or not, I totally agree with you. These are probably the same people who put on suits each day and ACT like they are good, upstanding citizens towards the minorities who work with them, then slither into their afterworld when the business day is done to berate all of them.

I am constantly amazed at the racial, insensitive remarks posted on here. I would bet not one of them would post on here if they had to use their real name and put their address behind their comments. No guts and they certainly have no glory.

If you read up about hypothermia, you learn that there are several stages, and as someone mentioned one of them is hallucination. Basically, you don't know WHAT you're doing.

I am so saddened these young men are gone. Their families have so much loss to cope with.
Some of the other comments on here are horribly inappropriate. How can you be so full of hate and bad grammar to post such sickening remarks?
What in the world is wrong with you?
Your lack of campassion for others is disturbing. I can't help but think you also have little regard for yourself. I hope you can find something besides hate in your life.

Are these morons "for real" posting this hate? I don't get it, but I guess that is a good thing - I hope to God none of them live anywhere near me -

And, I am truly sorry that these three young men are dead - this is a heartfelt tragedy ...

After being lost at sea for that length of time and becoming dehydrated, it is most certain they gave up as irrational as it may have been.

It is sad that they did that, but they had no way of knowing they would be found.

Do boats that go to sea not have some sort of GPS thing that would activate in the event of an emergency such as what they had.

Kind of like an on-star for boats? Perhaps one that would trigger when the boat overturned?

I agree with everything you've said here, Race.
I think I'll turn in early tonight, maybe there will be more to discuss tomorrow and I'll be rested up for it.

Good to see you again. Be safe, stay warm and peaceful sleep.

I think it's time for me to turn in also.

My prayers are getting longer and longer for little Haleigh, little Adji, all the missing children and the 3 young men lost at sea. May they all be found safe and back with their loved ones soon.

No one should go out on the ocean with out a GPS device. But they are not required on boats of this size. Not that it really would have helped them - except to be found after the accident.
The main problem was that they took a ridiculously small boat WAY too far out!! They should have never gone more than a mile or two offshore in this boat. Not to mention - HELLO - ever heard of checking a weather forecast?
The father of the guy who owned the boat kept saying that they are all "experienced boaters."
Just because you have $$ to BUY a boat, that doesn't make you an experienced boater! Experienced boaters would NEVER have done what they did.
They dropped anchor in high seas!!! This is what you do when you WANT your boat to capsize.
These guys were completely inexperienced & taking their lives in their own hands by going out there.
I have a much larger boat than this & believe me - I would never have taken my boat out on Saturday.
As far as the men taking off their life vests & letting themselves be swept away - this sounds 100% possible.
You can't help but have sea water forced down your throat in these types of conditions. You would quickly get dehydrated & also hypothermia. This seriously affects the brain. These guys probably had no idea what they were doing. I have heard stories of men lost at sea taking off their life vests & diving under the water because they think there is a rescue boat under there.
The guy who took off his life vest & started swimming toward a "light" probably thought he could make better time without the vest.
Sad - but these guys were doomed from the start. It is a huge miracle that one of them survived.

Wish they had a bigger boat with a ship to shore radio .

Besides needing a bigger boat, don't you have to know how to use a fishing pole and bait a hook? I wasn't aware blacks had that much intelligence.
You are ridiculous

Wow. You'd figure two NFL athletes would have a little more mental toughness. Only two to four hours after they were in the water they decided to give up?

After reading some of the disgusting comments above, I now understand that there are plenty of Profoundly **** up people who have no right to live but Do live in this country, making jokes about the death of another person as well as ignorant racist comments.
I would love the opportunity to personally put a 44 Magnum into their **** filled mouths and pull the trigger until the gun is empty and their empty heads splatter into little teeny bits.

The problem here is everyone has the right to their own opinion. This is our freedom in the good old USA. I'm not saying the comments are right, but they have to right to express their thoughts just like you have the right to express you're. The problem is you went one step too far and made a death threat and that is wrong!
