Mussel combat plans develop

With the 2009 boating season over, local and state officials will spend the next several months trying to improve plans to combat the spread of zebra mussels in Berkshire County in 2010.

What happens when they clog the pipe that leads from the base of the dam to the Housatonic? How will the water get out of the lake? Over the spillway? That will cause quite a bit of erosion in the streambed on the way down to the river. Looks like the "rent" to use the road over the dam will be going up next year!
