TO SOME OF THESE PEOPLE MAKING THESES COMMENTS JUST MAKE SURE YOU WOULD BE SAYING THE SAME THING IF EMMA WAS YOUR DAUGHTER,SISTER, MOTHER ,WIFE WHATEVER SOMEONE CLOSE TO YOU... SHE MAY HAVE MADE SOME MISTAKES BUT NOBODY KNOWS THAT FOR SURE AND THOSE LAPSES IN JUDGMENT DEFINATLY DONT MEAN SHE DESERVES WHAT HAPPENED TO HER. tHIS IS NOT ONE PERSONS FAULT IT STEMS FROM ALOT OF PEOPLE MAKING RISKY DECISIONS (EMMA INCLUDED) BUT LETS NOT GO BACK AND FORTH WITH BLAME.
btw i was just reading that the coast guard search is SUSPENDED but could be relaunched if new information is introduced so again i encourage those people on the boat to re-evaluate if they really gave ALL THE INFORMATION AND THE WHOLE TRUTH TO THE POLICE BECAUSE SOME INFORMATION COULD RELAUNCH THE SEARCH... EVEN IF THE SEARCH IS ONLY FOR A BODY
ONE LAST THING STOP BEING SO PETTY YOUR CHILD IS MISSING THIS ISNT A CUSTODY BATTLE... LET HER FATHER BE INVOLVED...HE CAN ONLY HELP

I pray for this family that they may find their loved one. It is truly sad that their dirty laundry is being aired in public like this. Regardless of the circumstances of her disappearance, they just need to focus on finding her. Save the drama for another day. How very insightful and sad that even with her missing, and possibly deceased, her parents continue to fight over her. She is not a child. She is an adult. The more people looking for her, the better!

My opinion wrote:
In the picture in this vidoes Emma has a drink in hand. Yes she is an adult, but she is still not legal to drink as were some of the others drinking on this boat. The first charge should start with contributing to minors. I cant believe alcohol testing was not done on any one of the boaters especially the owner. If Emma was drunk obviously it would make swimming harder and she would get tired faster than normal. I am on the lake often and I know my friends would never operate a boat like this. Raging music, beer, vodka & swimming far from where its safe? Bad combination! This probably isnt the first time its happened and wont be the last. This person should be charged before it happens again to another beautiful girl.
I agree!!! I posted the second comment on this asking the same questions! It's crazy how some things get investigated!

Seriously? How can a guy use a 100 pound girl as a floating device?
Get real! A boat full of drinkers mixed with a lake that can get out of control.

This incident is being investigated, and thoroughly. just because you don't get to hear about it on the news does not mean it is not being handled. Being directly involved with it I can tell you all that it is being diligently worked by a group of people who want to know the truth. And to the Nahas family I am truly sorry for your loss, I have spent countless hours on this and hope I can get some resolution.

It's not about bad parenting. It's about a missing girl and all the suffering, no matter if it's mom, dad, aunts, uncles or cousins. They are all hurting!!!

I knew Emma when she was in elementary school at the Elms. My thought and prayers are with Mike and his family. I remember the Mike would take Emma out for dinner every Sunday night for fun. My daughter went with them alot on Sunday's. Mike was a very dedicated father. He really picked up the pieces for Emma when her mother left her.....Emma I pray for your soul, your families pain and for the community, I pray that the healing process will begin.

I played volleyball with Emma on a club team when we were 13, and she was an amazing girl even then. She was my favorite girl on the team, and her dad was great as well. He was friendly, and never missed one of her tournaments. I haven't been in touch with her for the past 7 years, but I'm still horrified and saddened by all of this. Is it true her mother has a restraining order on her father? As if her disappearance wasn't tragic enough... My prayers and hopes go out to the Nahas family.

And just how do you know she made the choice NOT to wear one ? WAS there enough life jackets on that boat for all?,,,I very much doubt it
In that case, she STILL choose to get on the boat without a life jacket. It still comes down to her making a decision that ended up costing her her life. Not one person held her down and MADE her get on that boat without a jacket.

it actually would have been very easy for anybody to use emma nahas as a floatation device since emma was not a large woman. the guy who jumped into the lake with emma could have panicked and grabbed emma nahas around her neck or jumped on top of her and held her under the surface of the water in order to save himself. emma would have certainly drowned after being held under the surface of the water for 15 to 30 seconds since she probably would not be able to save herself if she was held under the surface of the water for any length of time. therefore, it is very easy for a person to have used emma as a floatation device and that actually caused her to drown. i would not be surprised if this is what sadly took place that evening when emma jumped off the side of the boat with that other person.

Why would somebody 20 years of age jump into a lake 2 miles offshore? That is just stupid on so many levels. You do stupid things you just might end up dead. I've lost friends because they did stupid things. At the end of the day, people need personal responsibility.

She may have been drinking and that is illegal, but she is 20 years old and old enough to go die at war overseas.

It's always a tragedy when people do dumb things and leave behind loved ones. Personally, life jacket or not, 2 miles off shore you'd have to put a gun to my head to get me in the water. The lake is dangerous.

I wish this country would stop blaming others when people make stupid choices. Not being cruel, but damn, she wasn't 10.

I knew Emma well when she still lived with her father and grandmother. She could not have had a better father. His entire world revolved around her. She was a wonderful and beautiful girl, inside and out. Seems like some changes happened in her life once she spent more time with her mother and they didn't seem positive. Poor role models can cause poor judgements from the child. My thoughts and prayers are with the rest of Emma's family. I love you, Em.

This *mom* looks like a creep! If it were my daughter missing, I'd call upon Charles Manson himself to help with the search. This broad appears to be a self-centered, media whore.

I hope that Emma is alive, but it doesn't look good. If she's dead, it appears that Heaven has gained another angel.

If she jumped in with a male, and he shouted for help, and was rescued by their friends.. WHY has he not explained what happened, why he shouted for help, why he didnt say 'hey emma is still out here'. he just got back on the boat and forgot about it? he could have at least mentioned something, like she was drowing? or it was dark and he couldnt see her? so much missing information.
I cant even walk on land when I'm drunk! Why and how did she end up in the water and why did the guy in the water yell for help and not say Emmas in the water too???

the reports from lakewood.. mike, marc whatever your name is.. yes we are completely aware that you are very good friends with alex cucu (the owner of the boat) you made that very clear before and you also claimed he is a family man w/ 2 children right?? well if he is such a FAMILY MAN WHY IS OUT BOATING ON A THURSDAY NIGHT WITH UNDERAGE GIRLS IN BIKINIS... YEA SOME FAMILY MAN, he should have been home with his wife & kids... i feel sorry for his wife. and THERE IS WAAAAAY MORE TO THIS STORY... most of the people that are leaving negative comments on here were either on the boat or are friends with the druggie, alcoholics losers that were with poor Emma that night that are NOTORIOUS FOR BEING WASTED & DOING DRUGS JUST CHECJ THEIR FACEBOOKS & MYSPACE PAGES (which they all recently took down all their pics of that night, hmmmm),that constantly change their stories & continue to party like nothing ever happened, ask them why the guy in the water with emma was naked when the coast guard pulled him out??????... yes she was an adult (and which is why she could make her own decisions on where she worked and who she hung out with, so dont blame her family for that they just want their daughter back) but no one deserves to be lost like this. NO ONE... REGARDLESS OF HER FAMILY'S PROBLEMS WITH EACHOTHER, THEY SHOULD ALL BE COMING TOGETHER TO HELP GET THE TRUTH ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED TO HER.... i pray Emma is found so her family can have some closure & i hope none of them ever rest until they get the full story because alex cucu has connections and you wonder why no tests were taken?? it happens all the time here in cleveland bc thy have money they get out of almost everything/// think about it... he should be charged with manslaughter.. im sure his lawyer he hired will attempt to get him out of it. PRAYING FOR EMMA & ALL OF HER FAMILY & FRIENDS BC SHE WAS AN AMAZING GIRL!!!!!!!
Before people start bashing families and I mean all families involved people need to get all the information. While I understand it is some peoples reaction to seek revenge it is not always warranted. I am certain that a lot of the comments posted have been written by people who have know idea what they are talking about. It is common practice for all investigators involved to keep certain details out of the press to actually help aid in the case. Bashing is never positive and needs to stop!!!
