To the Nahas family:
I encourage you to pull all the stops because the Clev. Police dept and city of Clev will not help you find the truth. Never stop,do what you have to in order to get the answers you need. I never found out the truth of what happened to my son on 18th of Sept 1999 in the flats. I pray you find the truth and if foul play was involved that justice be applied.

I don't understand why they are not looking more into the others on the boat! This girl is 20 and the other female that made statements to the paper is also 20! They said no tests were administered at the time of the search, and no one on board the boat has been charged with operating under the influence why NOT?!!! We now know that the one missing is not legal to drink nor is the other female so I don't understand why not even underage consumption charges would be made!! Maby its just me but when u get in a car accident and someone passes they are giving tests!!!!! Just seems like more should have been done that night!

Don't need to charge anybody with murder, all the survivors will suffer mentally over this thru their lifetime. Always insist on your own life jacket in hand before you leave the dock!

Always insist on your own?,Howbout the boat owner taking responsibilty for being a adult and knowing better chrissy ?,,These gals didnt know any better (how should they) and apparently the boat owner was more thinking about booze and bikinis than THEIR OWN SAFETY

I believe that 20 qualifies you as an adult. At 20, I knew not to go swimming in the depths of the lake without a life jacket. I'm sorry to hear of this girl's probable death; however, at the end of the day, you have to do what you can do to keep yourself safe. If an investigation concludes there is no foul play then there is no one to blame. It is an unfortunate accident and a sad lesson for others.

Did Emma Nahas know how to swim? I read a post on another FOX8 story about this drowning that mentioned that Emma Nahas did not know how to swim!! Was she a poor swimmer or a total non-swimmer? It appears as if Tracy Super (Emma Nahas' mother) might be right when she mentioned that another boater might have saved his or her own life by grabbing Emma when they both jumped into the lake. Emma might have not known how to swim or she might have been a poor swimmer and it would have been very easy for Emma to drown if this was the case. It is also possible that Emma might have thought that the person who jumped into the lake with her would help her if she needed help, but instead Emma might have disappeared under the water as soon as she jumped into the lake if she did not know how to swim or if she did not know how to swim very well. There are many unanswered questions in this drowning and these questions need to be answered to find out what really happened to Emma.

Apparently the survivors won't suffer mentally because they've been out partying steady every day since she went missing. I would think if you were good friends with her, and you're out on a boat with her and you go back into port without her and she's vanished--probably drowned--you might stop the partying for awhile and help look for her, and do more to console her family. It doesn't sound like they feel guilty at all.

I have known Emma and her father for her whole life. Her father raised her, and her mother was never around. Mike (her father), loves her in a way that can't be measured. Emma’s mom hurries to be in front of a camera, while Mike fights a restraining order put in place by Emma’s mom, just so he can be a part of the search. My heart goes out to mike, her true parent, as he now has to battle the camera hungry mom, again, just to look for his daughter. A cryin shame. I know mike well, and he is all heart... Unfortunately it is so filled by the love of his daughter, that her loss will likely destroy him.

Exactly Jason...Mike managed to keep her alive and well with no mother the majority of her life and sent her to Catholic school while Tracy had another family across the country and then Tracy moves back and tells Emma that she wont be so strict and has her working in strip clubs. How did she walk away from a 5 year old and leave her with such a so-called horrible person! Alex CuCu probably met her at the club while his picture is on the internet last Aug 14 delivering his own baby girl in a birthing pool at St. John Westshore. I am sure his wife is really pleased.
Tracy needs to get over herself and let Emmas biological father help find their daughter!

So very sad. I hope to god that the no one used this poor woman to save their own life. I know people panic when faced with death but that is just horrible!!!! I hope they find her alive and the family gets answers as to why this happened. I'm sorry to hear about the trouble between mother and father but all needs to be set aside right now to find their daughter. Again, I hope she is found alive.

Mike has been our neighbor for the last 3 years. I know from talking with him how much he adored his little girl. This loss is going to devastate him and destroy him. I also know that he was VERY upset with the way his daughter went once her mom came into the picture. Regardless of all that, keeping the entire family in your prayers should be the most important thing. Nobody should have to bury their child.

That, and prosecute the asshole who owned the boat with negligent homicide.

What is the basis of this mother's speculation suggesting the man used her daughter to save himself? The woman is 20 years old. She is/was an adult. The only answer to be sought is why her daughter would attempt to go swimming in the middle of Lake Erie without some sort of safety device. Why try to blame other people? The story is sad enough as it is. If it were my daughter, my only focus would be finding her/her body. I would not be looking to place blame on other people, and especially would not prevent the girl's father from helping in the search. This "mom" sounds like a piece of work.
