Judged: 1 I can not believe it. Somebody help me out here and set the record straight. |
|
Judged: 1 1 Why don't you turn off Beck, and trot out to the facility and ask some questions? |

Judged: 1 1 I am not interested in changing my opinion all I am asking for is confirmation and support of it. If you believe this fellow Beck thinks like I do well great more power to him! |

Judged: 1 1 "I am not interested in changing my opinion all I am asking for is confirmation and support of it." That says it all and speaks for Fox watchers Nation wide. Thanks for providing the blueprint for Republican thought, or lack there of, as the case here seems to be. |

Judged: 1 1 1 So is this fellow Beck a voice on Fox TV or radio? Not that I care to listen to radio now that they split the airways into so many channels that they can not be separated form one another. Radio is not a good thing any more. To many twisted and split tongues on methamphetamine, cheap synthetic poisonous whiskey and Oxycontin, radio is inaudible. Lets keep this discussion on how our tax dollars are being wasted on frivolous recreational boating education rather than nation building engineering, and military developmental technology classes. |
|
Judged: 1 1 No one is trying to change your opinion, we just can't figure out how you see a student enterprise renting equipment, and selling boating lessons as socialist, and a waste of taxpayer dollars. It just makes no sense. |

Judged: 1 1 Here is some info about Chico AS & the Aquatic Center. Students raise the funds through student run businesses and from fees that we pay as part of our tuition. I know, because I'm a master student, who has been involved with student government, and is studying governmental administration. I can totally feel you on the socialist move in government, but dude, pick your battles a little better. Maybe you should be more concerned about how BP is running our government and ruining the Gulf of Mexico for generations. Or better yet the continual bail out large business at our expense. Judged: 1 I just believe that there are tax dollars going down this rat hole, someplace. And I do not believe it should qualify for government taxpayer funding, in any way. I think someone will be agreeing soon and help me with pointing it out. I base my opinion on believing that they are basically parasitic minded tax and spend liberals, socialist as like brothers to communist, anti capitalistic and anti free enterprise. And part of what is breaking our economy. I am not an expert in how the government educators hide their sources of tax revenue. Don't want to get bogged down in the bureaucracy details, I just have a gut feeling I am right. It is what I want to believe. Maybe it is with what they call grant funding or revenue sharing. Do they pay rent to the state and if not why not? Where other Nonpartisan supporters get their information is none of my business. I do not run with the mob mentality. I am what the name implies, nonpartisan. |

Judged: 1 1 1 AS is a separate organization from the university, with a budget in the neighborhood of about $30 million. It doesn't receive funding from Chico State itself--it is self-supporting through the bookstore and other programs it runs such as food service and the Rec Center. It's not subsidized, but it doesn't make a ton of money, either. It falls in the CSU auxiliary organization category. |

Judged: 1 Well you better believe it. Some folks have already explained what I have told you. This is one instance where the government IS NOT ripping you off. |

Judged: 2 1 1 If you can afford to pay higher fees for your recreation in hopes of just "possibly" learning something along the way you can pay your own way through the CSUC system giving the taxpayers relief. The state taxpayers should not have to subsidies your fun filled frivolous life style that truthfully is thrashing our community. The 'fun' needs to end and education needs to begin. Leave the frills for private providers to make a living. I looked at your web site and am even more convinced you are truly many generations of social parasites, naive to the fact that you have become oblivious in expecting everything in your lives to be given to you, ne'er-do-wells. Private enterprise can do it cheaper and better, capitalistically. It appears you are/have monopolizing the students for selfish greed, maybe egotistical gratification. I think it has over the years spread out into the community, just by looking at our self serving fire department. |

Judged: 1 top notch reporting for sure. |

Judged: 1 1 I thought this area was for comments on the newspaper article. looks to me like it's a bait hole to lure in conservatives, for the purpose of beating them up. however, let see, we're subsidising an opertion that probably would fail if not funded by people who's money is drawn from them to support activities they may have little or no interest in. doesn't sound like free enterprise to me. or self sufficient. Anybody out there give a %$^& , or know anything about the actual operatiions out there, seeing as how the reporting was so weak ? |
