So the town of Frisco and the tiki bar were responsible for Brown getting on a boat with Lukanski who was intoxicated? Perhaps a follow up story is in order. Were these adults? If so then where is the personal responsibility? Obviously Lukanski should and is being held responsible. I fail to see where the tiki bar was negligent in any of this let alone the town of Frisco. I understand that the family must be in pain, but the someone must pay reaction should be directed toward the person driving the boat, and the person who failed to notice that the operator was intoxicated. Where were the life vests? So now will we see signs at the entrance to the town and the bar, "not responsible for irresponsible stupid behavior?" I understand the expense involved in defending against this lawsuit may have surpasses whatever the settlement amount was, but it also opens the door and sets precedence for any one/family in the future that wants to place blame everywhere but where it belongs.

Agreed! Where is the individual responsibility on Brown's part? Was he intoxicated as well? If so, liken this to a situation where a couple of drunks leave a bar, get in a car, then get into an accident where the passenger is killed. We've all heard of the bar that served to the point of intoxication being held liable, but when have we heard of a city being held liable for the actions of an irresponsible individual? My condolences to the family but two individuals were responsible here, the driver of the boat and the deceased guy. No one else!
