Anti-GP view : Good this shows that toll roads are not done deals.

Pro-GP view : Good, now all effort can be focused on the GP as we jump to the front of the line!

Let's see you judge that!!!

Of course the toll road is not a done deal. Since the Turnpike Authority did such a fine job with the Monroe Bypass and their credibility is so strong (not) I think that all of the proposed toll roads in North Carolina will get a whole lot of attention from the federal government. Perhaps the Garden Parkway will now jump to the "head of the line". I think that would be wonderful! Then the federal government will continue chewing the Turnpike Authority to tiny bits and the Garden Parkway will be spit out as another one of the bad/illegal things that the Turnpike Authority has done.

My question "Statewide"- do you know how the law was broken? Every proposed road that the Turnpike Authority had ANYTHING TO DO WITH will be stopped or studied for years. haahhhahahahahahahahahahahahah ahahahaha

I bet the rich spoiled little boys who supported this road are running and hiding right now. Anyone tied to this road were involved in breaking the law if they helped support the fake economic justifications. Bob Clay? Got any ties to the Turnpike Authority? Gazette seemed to quote you alot. Are you on the Turnpike Authority or do they pay you to help them as a subcontractor?

Ok, this is how it works, on issues of the environment, the Federal Govt has some input, that is what this ruling was about. The Federal Govt has no say in local economic decisions, and even if they did the GP was approved based on the original unfavorable economic projections, so it is pretty obvious most people in authority felt the study was flawed, so yes the NCTA does make mistakes but in the GP example they erred on the pesimistic side, so one can't come back and accuse them of distorting the truth in their favor. Get it. The feds are not going to interfere on economic issues. Now to date, there have not been any accusations the GP studies were that off on the environment, so that is why the new focus on the GP will make things move faster.

I am totally against toll roads. They are aysmal failures & money sucking pits in every state, but the money men get what they want so this is a done deal no matter what toll (pun intended) it takes.
