well it's pretty typical of americans and british... but GOD! i've just looked thru abt 60 featured pics of the day from CNN site. Only ONE picture w/ a russian GR wrestler (DEFEATED)!!!!!!!!! 6 russian gold medals in 2 days and the SAME TOTALS with GBR mean nothing for the american rotten nation... russians were SUPERB in sync swimming but the only photo was w/ an american duet (btw one of the girls is a former russian).
shame upon you, WASPs!
though a lot of pics are w/ chinese... it means USA are really scared of them (i don't mean olympic games)

Hey my friend are you really surprised? This is an American website TOTALLY focused on Americans. The ONLY thing that matters to the American media is being on top in total medals. They don't care about sportsmanship, human courage, drama etc. Earlier on in the Olympics I had the misfortune of watching NBC and their commentators were horrible i.e. uneducated, bias and totally incompetent other than Ato Boldon for track and field. I eventually watched some decent sporting events on this channel on mute or ended up changing the channel altogether.

Every time I happened to unfortunately flip to an American report of the Olympics, all you ever heard was how they were the best, their flag had the best colours, they are the best country in the world etc. etc. On the Canadian channels they they actually had segments on Olympians and who made a difference in their lives to help them get there, how certain types of athletes are able to excel at their particular sport etc.

I also found many of the US athletes to be quite arrogant in their post event interviews, the worst by far being Trey Hardee who finished second in the decathlon. This guy definitely needs a lesson or 2 in dignity and humility. While you can't generalize and say all the athletes, commentators etc are this conceited and smug, it doesn't help the general perception that the Americans feel that everyone else is inferior to them. Hopefully that will change but I have my doubts.
