Bobby Balcena was the first full blooded Pinoy to make the majors. He was from Sacramento but came up in the Pacific Coast League with the Seattle Rainiers a Cincinnati Reds AAA club in the mid '50s. Balcena played briefly with the Reds.

Lincecum's mom is Pinay and an member of the Asis family.

From Wilkipedia:

Robert Rudolph Balcena (August 1, 1925 - January 4, 1990) was an outfielder in Major League Baseball who played briefly for the Cincinnati Reds in 1956. Balcena batted right-handed and threw left-handed. He was born in San Pedro, California.

Balcena became the first player of Filipino ancestry to appear in a major league game. He had a long distinguished Triple-A career with the Seattle Rainiers as a center fielder in the 1950s, and in Seattle is fondly remembered to this day.

Balcena died in his hometown of San Pedro at the age of 74.

Is Tims mom full Filipina, or is she 1/2, as I have read elsewhere? So Tim is 1/4 Filipino?

As posted above Timothy's mother is full blooded Filipina which makes Tim HALF Filipino.

If you're his auntie.... why don't Tim and his mother talk? I've heard a few things here and there.. but I know they don't have much of a relationship.

What exactly makes you think they don't talk or moreover have a relationship? What Tim tells the press is what he believes is pertinent to his career..His personal life and/or his personal relationships is no ones business unless he chooses to make it so.

His parents are divorced, no one likes to talk about divorce. Tim talks about his dad because his dad taught him how to pitch. Just because he doesn't like to talk about his personal relationship with his mom doesn't mean she's not in the picture or he doesn't have a relationship with her. What happened is nobody's business. The guy is an ace pitcher and continues to excel in his career thats all people need to know.

I hear ya Timmys Auntie, people only know what Timmy chooses to tell them, the rest is none of their business it has nothing to do with his career and thats probably the way he wants it. His private life is his and no one else is allowed to touch it. Good for him!!!

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Cancer

If you thought yesterday was fraught with tension the temperature rises a few notches again today, as Mars turns retro in your house of finances and values. What's eating you? Maybe you're annoyed because your spare time is being eroded by duties that are weighing heavily on your shoulders. You might also be miffed by the flippant attitude of a certain person who you think should be taking life a lot more seriously. Calm down or you'll blow a gasket.
