Tourism dollars is NOT what this country needs...this country needs to RE-learn how to actually conduct their lives..Money is a bandaid.

Problem is, ALL U.S. taxpayers would end up having to chip in for the billions of dollars for the overall costs.( Not to mention what we paid for the Prez & his Mrs. to go promote Chicago) And the vast majority of any benefits to tourism would go only to the Chicago area residents, none of it to you and me. And, why is it no one ever seems to mention that after the Olympics, billions of dollars are lost because no one has any use for all that was constructed?

I'm rooting against what Obama is trying to this with this country! I LOVE this country. Obama is the one on the "apology tour", not the people on this forum who are expressing concern over what Barack Obama is trying to do.

Rather absurd to call this a "slap in the face" for America. If I were on the committee I would have selected Rio too. It's their time. Way too much is being made of this decision. Rather refreshing to see the Olympics rising above politics, wealth, and power for a change.
