Wellingtonians are the best paid a " but job vacancies down by 7.4%

Trademe A Trademe study of the New Zealand employment market in the second half of 2009 shows that Wellington City has reassumed the mantle as the best paid location, with an average pay of $72,471. However, the Wellington region suffered from one of the sharpest declines in advertised vacancies, down 7.4% compared to the first half of 2009.

I did a quick search on Trademe and Seek for jobs in the sector that I work in a few days ago.
Found 7 on Seek and 2 of those jobs where duplicate ads and the agency had forgotten to pull them off so that left 5
Trademe had the same 5 jobs listed.
That's really low

I ran the same search on Aussie job sites and got a few pages of results.

There is not much employment growth in Wellies.
Maybe is because of so many companies being forced out of business by high taxes form councils and government
I'm not an economist but doing business in NZ is expensive

And for some reason the NZ made stuff just doesn't seem to last quite as long. I wonder why, Its almost on par with "made in china" crap.

I prefer imported quality and don't mind paying more for quality either.

LOL@warehouse jingle.....Yet its promoted NZ products are of better quality?
