I admire and appreciate that kind of "can do" attitude by the NZ search and rescue teams...and as Ms Perkins stated...that "It's better to be safe than sorry."
How true! Its quite reassuring to know that these hardworking individuals really give it their all in helping to rescue and save lives.
It may be okay if no one is really in dire straits so to speak, but if it isnt a legitimate SOS then its best to find that nincompoop who raised the alarm. I hope you find the idiot that think its funny to cry wolf..and take advantage of the goodness of people who take their profession of saving lives seriously.

Slap the cuffs on that person and throw them in the slammer to contemplate their idiocy!

Cheers to you all who also put yourselves in the line of danger in order to save lives!

Right on Masina. The rescue guys do this stuff without thinking and probably don't even really want it but do deserve thanks. The main thing for me, though, is catching the idiot, as you nicely call him, that deserves an emergency flare up his butt, followed by a good kick in the same region from every single person involved in the search. And then we can talk about bringing criminal charges against him! What a stupid, stupid thing to do.(only hope they don't find a wrecked boat or body washed up on the shore after all..)

Likewise, cheers to the rescue folk....

LOL...G! Yup the idiot will need to be dealt with accordingly. I...just like you, also hope that they do not find a body or some kind of wreckage. If it is a false alarm after all, poor guy(NOT REALLY!! lol) with the flare up his you know what(hehehehe). It could well mean that he will be having one blast of a time... celebrating New Years...no extra fireworks needed...just a wee bit of internal combustion, implosion and explosion from the rear...HAHAHAHAHAHA! chooooo hooooo!
