The current rates debate in Tauranga is more than about the the possible water rates rise but is in fact all about fiscal inofficiency and bureaucrasy gone mad.
With nearly 400 employees in that City Council building all inventing ways to spend money to make their career look good must stop! There seems to be no common sense or accountability in any section of the council and they need to learn to live within budget as the ratepayer burden is already way to high. If they are not careful we will end up in the same sort of mess as Greece!
