Hideous disgusting things, usually poor kids with loser mothers trying to live a life they never had, through their children.
Have you ever watched some of the documentaries about the pageant kids and their pushy mothers.
You'd think Jon Benet Ramsey would have (to use a bad pun) have killed the kiddie beauty pageants.

Well I love how everybody is talking american style pageants this is New Zealand for gods sake and obviously if we do hold them they will be nothing like the american ones because we aren't america if you watch toddlers and tiaras when an american girl goes to Hawaii and looses because what she was wearing and all the make up she had on wasn't what they do in Hawaii none had fake tans very little make up and the talent section was all the girls doing traditional dances and stuff and yes this Hawaii pageant was one of the Universal Royalty ones but very different. My little sister would love to be in one because she is always asking me to do her hair and make up and does dancing and I think people saying parents living through kids its in everything now days sport, dance what ever I don't think you can be too quick to judge plus of toddlers and tiaras and little miss perfect they never interview the sane people who are doing it cause their kids want to because other wise it wouldn't be good TV and natural pageants no one ever talks about those if you don't want your kids with make up and what ever there are those exactly the same but no rhinestones glitter false hair and make up

So yes I'm standing up for the other side because its the parents who are the crazy ones on TV and New Zealanders aren't like that. I wish I could've been in padgents when I was little I would've loved it plus they can't ban them because pageants are already in new zealand and growing more popular every year

NZ should hold children's beauty pageants because if any girls want to be a model or a singer then this would be a good chance for them to practice.

How ever the girls should be aged 6-15 as it would be more fare 'cos you don't want tears and tantrums over winners.

thank you for hearing my say.:)

Thankyou for your post chelsey. I am personally not against NZ hosting beauty peagant but there should be a age limit and also it's should not be all about just looking pretty, talent is important as well.
